Better day - high AMPS number but she is feeling a bit better - she even jumped on the bed with me for a few minutes this morning - she hasn't done that in weeks.

Will be taking her to my personal vet for an emergency follow up at 2:30 PM (EST) today.

I have no clue what has been going on but here is a strange note:
BOTH cats were "different" yesterday. NEITHER cats ate - Boris is an EATER but he also shunned food yesterday and he was far less visible than usual. They both ate like PIGS on Saturday and at dinner time (after PM shot) I gave them each 1/2 can of FF Turkey kitten food - "0" carbs but high fat and probably richer than they are used to. No diarrhea but they were both just "off" - wondering if that could be a culprit? We also have house guests but they didn't arrive until 4PM and this started long before they arrived. Trying to keep everything as calm as can be in the house and they will be gone late this afternoon. Making them sleep in the BASEMENT as Tashie is occupying the guest room and SHE is the princess! Hey! Don't like it - go to the Hilton!

Running on 4 hours sleep AGAIN!
Learning that you have to take full advantage of the calmer times and try to store up for when the drama kicks in!

Thanks again for all your well wishes! They did not go un noted! :thumbup

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

I hope you can work in a nap today.

Did the ER vet say what they thought was wrong, last night?
I hope the follow vet visit goes well and leads to some clues.

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

Thank you Dyana. Tash got some sub q fluids and a few more things. Going to my vet to go over stuff - don't want to try to guess what some of the notes are :? She mostly put it down to Tash being "unregulated" and suggested I see an Internal Medicine specialist and hospitalize her for regulation - HA! Like Tash would even eat for them- !!!

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

Here's yesterday's link.
Tashie's 6/9 condo

Glad to see there wasn't more drama after the vet visit last night.

They do keep us guessing on eating.
I just know mine would eat something with gravy but she can't have those. And if she ever had gotten a nibble of that, she will hold out
for something better.
Can't blame them for that.

You definitely want to take advantage of the higher number cycles for resting.
It's like having an infant.
You rest when they rest ( or you get no rest at all) I sure wasn't good at that when my kids were babies.

Paws crossed for a good vet visit today.

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

Just letting you all know that Princess Tashie is out snooping around and I have SEEN her eat twice this morning - going to give more food soon! She is alert and was checking me out when I was in the bathroom putting my face on - she's a "girly girl" and likes to watch :-D

Here is to a better day! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

Paws crossed for a good checkup. Sometimes they know beforehand, your routine changes as you prep for guests! If I am going out of town I have to pack my suitcase in the garage, because Tess knows the sound of the zipper on the case.

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

Isn't THAT the truth! The last few years I won't go ANYWHERE! My boy needs meds 3x week and I just don't trust a sitter to be able to do it - I have two WAY spoiled cats that I have allowed to run my life - but I am so lucky to have them in my life that I am perfectly okay with it! My husband, not so much but too bad! I "allow" him to go on guy stuff so it's not like I make him adhere to the stay home rule!

I still think it was something about that darn food! May never get to the bottom of it, and that's okay as long as she is comfortable and "herself"!

Thanks Ann!

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

So glad things are better today. It does sound like the food...maybe just too rich for them?

Please keep us posted on the vet visit today.

You probably haven't heard, yet of the Kittenhood of the Travelling Soup and Spa (KTSS). Whenever any kitty or been is sick or goes to the vet, the KTSS Kreme brings over soup and a spa treatment to get the vetty smell off them. Tobey gives massages. We will send over KTSS today ;-)

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417

Well....... you ready? Whoo Hoo! Let the diarrhea begin! Boris just had it - not pretty! Hope it's out of him now - Ewwww! But mummy loves him and will take care of it - BLAND diet toady! Think it will be poached chicken breasts in chicken broth ........NO KITTEN FOOD HERE EVER AGAIN!

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417+6=168

Oh yes! Much better. I'd check her again at +7, my friend! If she's clearing a bounce, she could get dramatic as only Miss Tashie can.

I bet it was the fud. Hooe it's just one episode and done with.

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417+6=168

I would also look to see if there's gluten in the kitten food. It could be a double whammy -- high fat and gluten!

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417+6=168+7.75=204

+7.75 = 204 - Tested at vet but this reading is from my meter. She is really good today and eating MSG free turkey treats as I type. Guests are gone - don't think my brother will be in any hurry to come back soon!

ALso have a Benebac Pet Gel Pen for BORIS - to keep his tummy settled.

FYI - here are the ingredients on the FF Kitten Turkey = I am sure it could be okay for some but since they have been on a strictly LC diet now for 3 1/2 weeks maybe their systems couldn't take it? So strange how BOTH of them were so sickky! But things seem to be looking up ....... PLEASE! :?: :?: :?:

Turkey, liver, meat by-products, poultry broth, milk, egg product, artificial and natural flavors, calcium phosphate, guar gum, potassium chloride, added color, magnesium sulfate, salt, taurine, Vitamin E supplement, zinc sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, ferrous sulfate, niacin, copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, calcium pantothenate, Vitamin A supplement, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, biotin, folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, potassium iodide.

I am going to TRY to give you a DRAMA FREE WEEK! But then, Miss Prissy drives the car!

And thank you all again for your kind words yesterday, I needed them!

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417+6=168+7.75=204

Glad all is ok. Did Tashie need any more fluids at vet?

I would do a test a little later. Vet stress can wear off and numbers come back down....sometimes and ECID.

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417+6=168+7.75=204

No, she was fine. For a little one that really hasn't had many car rides she has become quite the traveling girl - and I think she likes all the admirer's (from afar) telling her how pretty she is - she loves to be told that - crazy! :-D what have I raised?

Oh, and Captain, are you testing me with "ECID"? = every cat is different! Ha!

Re: 6/10 Tashie AMPS=417+6=168+7.75=204/PMPS=557
