LOL....T, you are such a character! My Frankie - the one who keeps us up all night - she makes those kinds of noises when we wake her up, too (which, of course, we do frequently...all is fair in love and war!).

OT: The vet just called with Charlie's blood test results. There is a problem with his red blood cells. There are a lot of them and they are irregular in shape. She explained that it probably means he has a tumor on his spleen or liver or both, which can happen in older labs. If there are tumors, then they will most likely be cancerous. He is not anemic, so that was a good thing. It means they aren't bleeding which would be extremely painful and probably fatal. She gave us the option to wait two weeks and do another blood test. If they were still the same then we would need an ultrasound. We decided to just do an ultrasound on June 27. I wish we could do it earlier but we are going to be gone for the marathon and, if they have to remove his spleen, there is no way Mason can handle that alone. We would appreciate any good thoughts you can send. I'm devastated.

Hi Melissa, Peyton and I are new to the group but I wanted to give you some words of encouragement. I had a dog, Millie, that had to have her spleen removed because of cancer. She had chemo and lived another fabulous 3 years. It wasn't the cancer that she passed from but congestive heart failure.
Even when she was getting her chemo she was still spunky. She would come home from the vet tired and after a good rest she would be back to her normal self. Keeping you and Charlie in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Melissa, Charlie and T. I'm very sorry to hear about Charlie. I had a beloved yellow lab who had a tumor when she was 10. It was removed, and she lived to be 14! I will be hoping that he gets through this and lives for many more years!! Lots of hugs.

i'm so sorry for the bad news. i hope when you get more info from the ultrasound, it will be better than it sounds today. i love to hear Deanna & Julie's experiences that say that things can be better than we expect. sending you lots of big hugs!

So sorry for Charlie's news. At least if it's the spleen maybe they can remove it and you can have more time together. Always so worrisome when our furbabies have trouble. Extra hugs and scritches from us! :YMHUG:
