Good Monday, Everyone,

Today is vet day and Rusty seems to know it, judging from his bedtime number last night and his AMPS this morning. After he clears the vetty bounce (which is apparently already in progress), I plan to take his dose up by 2 drops to try to get him back down to his old range.
Rusty had a good night and this morning a good test, breakfast (combo platter of Paw Lickin' chicken, FF T&G and Wellness chicken), good shot, his delicious lung treat, a schmooze with his mamabean, a weigh-in (16 lbs. 7.5 oz.), and an early combing. He is ready to visit the vettybean.

Contrary to weather predictions, the sun is out this morning. But our paddle was cancelled (that's why I scheduled Rusty's vet visit). I will have to mow the lawn before the showers arrive later today. After almost a week of rain our "lawn" looks like a jungle.

Wishing you all a good day and sending healing vines to all who can use some,

Ella & Rusty

Yo Kitties, I'm going to need the KTSS later!!

Don't worry Rusty. We iz all comin! KTSS for Rusty. You'll be right back to normal in a heartbeat. Then let's go play??!!! Maybe we can take the bus, do some grillin and chillin? Good luck at that vetty place. see you in a couple secs. ollie

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220; vet day

I don't think anything different is "going on". This is Rusty's "wellness check-up". But I hope that the vet finds his breathing to be better than it was in January. We think it is, but we are not impartial! Anyway, he will have bloodwork, urinalysis, nail clip, anal-gland express, and whatever else. If the vet wants to do more chest x rays/ultrasounds, we will figure out when to schedule them (they require light sedation).

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220; vet day

Sending more good vetty vines! I know the vet will think you are doing a smashing job w/ Rusty.

Rusty! On my way but no bus! We need the top down on the Furrari for a good fur blowout after your spa treatment! Then a road trip and picnic! -- Tess

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220, +5.5 199; vet day

Rusty can't understand why I took his food dish away after "breakfast" (which he usually nibbles on all morning), and why he didn't get lunch. Pitiful meows. 199 at +5.5 isn't bad under the circumstances. (Actually, it's where it was yesterday at this time.)
Off to the vet. bbl

Ella & Rusty, who will enjoy the spa treatment later!

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220, +5.5 199; vet day

Hi Ella. Fingers crossed for a great vet report for Rusty today. Sounds like your plans for the day changed quite a bit....going for a paddle to cutting grass  .

Have a great day.

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220, +5.5 199; vet day

Sending good Vetty vines for Rusty and hope all goes well, and he gets an A+ on his Vetty report card.
Mags will be along with the KTSS kitty crew and will bring some of her rose scented lotion to help with the massages for Rusty.

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220, +5.5 199, +7 208 (at vet); home.

Hi again,
We are home. Rusty protested mightily during his "procedures", but all is well now. He got his Paw Lickin' chicken for lunch and is napping in his basket. His test results are on the whole good. I'll post them on the "Labs" tab of his SS tomorrow. The vet thought his breathing sounded markedly improved and was happy to hear how well Allerplex works and that he likes it. She is going to suggest it for her other patients who have breathing problems and allergies. Rusty did test "abnormal" for pancreatitis on the Snap fPL, so the blood sample has been sent to IDEXX for the Spec fPL so we will be able to see what his number is. Last time this happened he had only a mild case of pancreatitis, so hopefully this time will be similar. The urine sample (by cystocentesis) was also sent out and we will get the results back later this week.
The vet had 5 kittens in the big crate (4 black and 1 tiger; all siblings) and a rescued gray Mamacat with two very young kittens (tuxedo) in one of the exam rooms, free range. The Mamacat had been found in poor condition and malnourished, but the kittens are OK. Needless to say, the vet and the vet techs tried to get us to take a kitten or two. But Rusty's history with other cats precludes that. He needs to be an "only" and he is our "only". He is definitely a "people" cat.

Time to chill out. Back this evening,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. I think the KTSS just arrived to begin the spa treatment. Rusty sure has vetty smell!

I'm sorry to hear Rusty may have pancreatitis. I hope it is a mild case if it is a positive test result. That's great his breathing has improved.

Re: 6/10 Rusty AMPS 220, +5.5 199, +7 208, PMPS 354; vet day

Hi Ella

If Rusty has the start of pancreatitis, it's probably been caught just in time to medicate it away quickly.
I'm so happy the doc is impressed with his lung issue. Yer a good mamabean nurse. :-D

Have a nice relaxing evening.

Rusty slept in his basket all evening (after eating dinner), then watched some TV with us, and then hungry for his nighttime food. He's a little sore from his procedures at the vet, but seems OK. I think that his whacky numbers of late are owing to the pancreatitis flare.

ni ni, and thanks for visiting. and thanks to the KTSS for their spa services!

Ella & Rusty
