Do you not want her to earn a point towards decrease and gave her the HC and karo? Have you found that the HC alone is not enough to keep her surfing? Those were pretty numbers last night....nice that they want all that attention in the PM cycle, eh? If it were up to our kitties, we would be turning our nights into days for sure!! :lol:

Hi, Devon & Mocha too!! Sorry to see the 357, but no doubt due to the HC & Karo.. her #s were not low, so wondering why you didn't just stick to LC?
I know I suggested it before & was kind of shot down by others on the board.. but it seems worth trying.. not to bring out MC, HC & Karo. Give her a cycle with LC unless the #s get crazy low & I mean low by saying that.. not 40s or 50s. Others will probably disagree again.. but I wanted to suggest at least one more time, in hopes you will try something different.. if not, then that is Ok.. you are the mommy ;-)
Happy to see Mocha is able to get low & surf :mrgreen:

The reason we fed mocha HC and Karo last night wasn't because she had really low numbers at that spot check, but because of how fast she dropped there. She was over 200 at her pmps and 3 hours later she was under 100. Given mochas past history, if she drops like that, there isn't any bringing her back from it with LC and we don't want a hypo situation on our hands. Half the time we can't even bring her back from dropping that hard and fast with HC, and we have to break out the Karo syrup. So we tried to slow the drop with the HC and karo, before she got to low for us to handle.

It doesn't seem to make any difference with mocha. If she wants to drop, she'll drop hard, and therefore bounce even harder come morning. If we try to slow the drop with HC or karo, she'll bounce hard from that as well.

Last night we opened up a new lantus cartridge for her. Its one of the last two remaining in the package that we had ordered from canada quite awhile back. We stopped using that pack when we were able to get the free pack. I always had a bad feeling in my stomach about the pack from canada. Just the way the ice packs were melted when they got here, how they may have been handled en route. Unfortunately due to budget restraints we are going to have to use the last two carts before purchasing another pack. So I wouldn't be surprised if for the next month or two her numbers are off.

Hi Devon,

Mocha sure keeps you on your toes and guessing what she is going to do next! I agree with you using HC last night to try and slow down her drop....she dropped so fast. You and Peter sure have your hands full with her.

Don't worry too much about the Lantus.....you are doing the absolute best you can for Mocha......and she is thriving under your care. I hope the Lantus is OK, but if you get wonky numbers from it, at least you will be reasonably certain as to why. I hate that money has to play such a big role in deciding how we treat our furbabies....but we all do the best we can.

Hi Mocha! Ya know, our beans don't realize that we cats are nocturnal creatures. Their night is OUR day!! I like to go low during our day, too. But my beans are asleep and don't know the half of it, and I like to keep them in the dark. I really like those hours without ear pokes!
See you Saturday at the new moon party. But regardless of what Shadow says about attire, DON'T WEAR A BLACK DRESS! You'll freak everyone out! Stay low, Mocha, but not too low!!
