6/10 Jack 263@AMPS/0.3 ketones

It's bumming me out not to see ketones every day, but I'm still conserving strips due to the lack of recent paycheck; luckily they seem to be staying low, so I'm not overly concerned. His BG numbers also seem to be on a slow, but steady decline, so hopefully we see some blue and possibly green on Monday when we go to 6 units. Hopefully trying again to get him off the kibble this weekend, but he is so awful about eating wet, despite all the tricks I've tried (more on that in yesterday's thread reply). I've read the sticky on transitioning, it did not work- he literally starved himself for over 12 hours. Any suggestions, no matter how odd or out of the ordinary, are greatly appreciated. I have a very multiple cat household, so that complicates life as well.

Thanks again for all of your support and help! I think we are getting closer to where we need to be. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Yikes what a chalk you have. I only have two but feed in separate rooms so one doesn’t eat the other’s food. Are you feeding them one of the lc dry foods?

Have you tried any of the freeze dried raw foods? He does sound like a real stubborn one! Which of the dry foods are you feeding now? Still 50/50 Dr. Elsey's and YA?

He(and 6 of his brothers and sisters) are eating a 50/50 combo of Dr.ELsey's and Young Again. More than 50% YA gives him diarrhea. Almost everyone else in the house (except one sister) would kill to have wet food every day. He's just a stubborn mule. :-/

I have not. I am leery of raw food, and would have to compare the price to the dry mix now. If you have any brand suggestions, I'd appreciate it. And yes, he is still eating the 50/50 Dr Elsey's and YA.

Raw freeze dried is definitely more expensive. I feed my two raw and have one bag of freeze dried for emergencies when I forget to take food out of the freezer.

Ooh, that's not good news, but thanks for the reply. I was looking again last night and it seems to be regardless of brand, pretty expensive. Has anyone ever tried putting pate in a food dehydrator and making kibble? I know this defeats the moisture component to feeding, but he's not eating much wet now anyway. I'm not sure if that would work, not entirely knowledgeable about how the dehydrators work. Just a thought I had while falling asleep last night.
