Happy Monday!!! Sending healing thoughts to all who need them today....and hugs for others who do! We hope Tashie and Boris are better today after their "fest" on kitten fuds.
Missy G had a mani/pedi this morning and boy does the little red-headed  come out. She sits very still and politely but she growls and will occasionally give a little hisssssssss but allows me to do it with no problem. Once we were done, life was fabulous again and she was off doing all things she loves to do when she is happy. She's so funny....she loves to follow me around and if I sit down to do something, she flops on her back, rolls around, acts totally adorable, and then pops up beeerrooooowwwww! and then does the whole thing again. Today's chores for the LBG also included staring intently at a very dead bee on the outside window sill. It was as if she was willing him back to life so she could swat at him.
Last night, I had a rather scary event occur with Gus. He was on the den rug by his bed, Gracie was on the TV cabinet, Tobey was chilling on his little cube and Gus decided to go to the LB about the same time I got up to do Gracie's +5 test at midnight. While I was getting her food, I heard him in the LB and it sounded like he fell and so I ran in there and he was freaking out. It was as if he was having horrible hallucinations that something was on him. I tried to pick him up but he must have even seen me as some scary creature because he jerked away; he kept looking at the LB and the floor once I got him out of it. Long story short but every time I tried to put him down, he was just freaked out like something was crawling on him or after him. I held him for an hour and a half, while testing Gracie, too because she came down at +5, waiting for Mike to get home. All of his jerky actions were scaring Gracie. He finally started settling down, he acted hungry and we gave him some food and it was as if there were bugs crawling in it. So..held him some more and then he really did settle down. He finally ate and laid down to sleep. Gracie....she adores him....she went over and licked his head several times. He was fine the rest of the night and this morning. I called the vet and she said classic "hyperesthesia". She thinks he was likely stung by a scorpion. It did occur to me and Mike and I both looked with a black light but didn't see one but it could have gotten under the washer/dryer by the time I got in there. She said the symptoms and the duration were very textbook for a scorpion sting.
So...not much sleep here last night. I am going to take a quick nap. I'll be back around later...I have some chores to do once I get my nap in. Hope you are all well.
