Hi All

I know its been a while sorry I have been so MIA things have just been rough here with my health and getting on here was just too much the Month of May was for me the worst migraine time I have had in years only 2 days did I not have a migraine so the entire month was just so hard I just find it too hard to cope with getting by my dr has taken me off my hormones for now since we now can see changing them sent me into migraine overload so far the month of June has been a little better still having headaches every day but not as severe hoping once all this hormone thing gets out of my system we can see where I am and go from there but its really wore me out I still think of all of you daily ..... Do Lou had not been doing as well he is eating well but his allergies are really kicking in now and his numbers are just all over he is up to 6.5 now and really not doing too much with that been thinking about the use of R. All P's in place with the boy though he has been purring away no matter the number I am thankful for that :-D I am also thinking about maybe going back to Lev if his dose keeps climbing up he was only on that a month and I doubt I really gave it the proper chance to do its thing guess thats about all going on here, kittens are 3 months old now and a real wrecking crew into everything when out of their kitten room. Had a special religious moment this week I have had a lot of trouble with my Dad last couple of years he is pretty harsh on my Mom who has parkinsons and cannot hardly walk well he did something really special this week for my DH and I and when I was at the forest praying about it a white dove came and landed shortly after I had prayed so to me this was a really special kinda of sigh saw the dove the next day when I walked as well

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

I'm so sorry you've been having such a rough time of it lately. I truly know how horrible those migraines can be so I pray once the hormones leave your system you get some much needed relief.

And poor Do Lou, allergies such! Hope they go away too.

It's so lovely to get a sign, I'm happy you saw the dove.

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

I'm sorry to hear that your headaches have been getting you down so much .. I hope this month is better for you .. sorry to hear Do Lou is not doing so well, but I'm glad to hear he seems to be a happy boy so thats good ..

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

seconding what the others have said - hope the migraines are gone, gone, gone and you can feel healthy & happy again. how sweet to have seen the dove.

take care, lisa! we're cheering for you and do lou!

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

Oh LIsa,
Saw your post here and didn't realize you had been going thru sooooo much. Migraines in themselves can be so debilitating and then to have to worry about your mom with your dad too. Do Lou is so lucky to have you. Sending you many warm thoughts. Thinking of you!!!!!! xxxx

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

I have been so worried about you!! I've been checking Do Lou's SS as well as your FB page and the cattery's page. I was particularly concerned with all of the crazy weather so I knew you weren't effected by that. I'm sorry about the migraines. They have been such a struggle for you.

If you're giving serious consideration to using R, drop Libby a PM. She's been helping several new people here who have acro cats.

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

Sorry also that you have had so much trouble!! Hope that things start to go your way now.
At least, Do Lou is holding his own & still is happy & purring--I had a very religious experience with a white dove also, which came to me when my Mom passed, and it stayed here for 3 yrs..
Hope for you it means that peace is coming back into your life--Giant Hugs from us--Missed you!

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

I'm sorry you have had a rough month, but I'm really glad you're back. :YMHUG:

To be honest, I don't know about using R for Do Lou. It would be beyond my experience level to try it because he seems to come down from pink pretty well when he feels like it. I was going to say that it looks like you could be more aggressive with his Lantus dose, but I see that you increased tonight and I think that is good. His numbers are pretty good really, mostly yellow with some blue and only a little pink. Hopefully a bit more juice will help him bring his range down.

Is he still on pred? If so, that could be making him need more insulin too.

Re: 6/10 Do Lou AMPS 259

Hi Lisa, I have been worried about you and was about to send you a PM to see if you were OK. I sure hope that your migraine/hormone thing can be straightened out. Migraines can be so debilitating, and to have them every day must have been awful. Sending you lots of healing vines and wishes for migraine-free days ahead.

I hope that Do Lou's numbers will get more consistent again, too. Maybe another trial of Lev would be a good idea.
Anyway, I'm just so glad to see your post. Have a good weekend. All is well here and we are happy that you're back.

Many hugs to you, Do Lou, all the kitties, and your DH,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. It must have been very special to see that white dove.

Is he still on pred well sorta Libby the vet just tells me to give him a small dose when I think he needs it for itching so no he is not on it regular but yes still off and on I make a note on the ss when I do give it I will hold off on R and be more aggressive with his Lantus thanks I think I am just frustrated with everything in general with the way this past month was but of course Mr Do Lou has been a purr box even with the higher numbers and the allergies so for that I am grateful

(((HUGS)))) I tell you what Sienne I pretty much almost abandoned the computer in May was on FB some but pretty much was bed reading if I felt like it or watching movies the screen of the computer was just too glaring for me plus just trying to keep up here was also too much with my head hurting the way it did every day but I missed everyone :YMHUG:

Lisa: we have really missed you and I'm sorry your health has not been good. I don't know how you manage to function with migraines much less take such awesome care of a diabetic kitty and all those kittens!!! We're so glad to have you back and know you are all ok there. I will keep you in my prayers that your headaches go away and they get the hormones balanced out. Good luck with the dosecrease for Do Lou.....also so sorry about his allergies!!

Just one question: is it safe to give pred on and off? I've always read you have to give it consistently and then when you take them off, it has to be done slowly. Going on and off can cause it to become ineffective and I wonder if it has an effect on the pancreas as well? Of course, I'm not sure how all that relates to DL and his IAA/acro. .....

BIG HUGS to you and I hope you feel better.

Hi Marjoie

as to pred on and off is it safe? I am sure all vets feel differently about the use of pred but Do Lou's vet uses pred this way and on a regular basis as well is really all I can tell you concerning pred since even with being a vet tech I myself have never looked into it to be honest guess I should

So glad to hear from you guys. Wish you all were doing better but it does sound like things are coming around. What a beautiful experience with the dove, very special indeed. Been thinking about you too, take care, Susan & Lanky

PS I am using R (just very small doses to get the red out, sort to speak).
