Well, I guess China didn't get the memo that mama HAS to go to pain clinic today!! I really should be leaving now, but if I rearrange my errands and schedule a little, I can stay home another hour, but I'm going to really have to push it to get there on time

I'll retest her in about 40 minutes and decide what to do then...don't really want to carb her up high since I don't want to put the brakes on the reduction but I'll do what I need to to make sure she's safe

And I know her LL aunties will keep an eye on her for me too :)
 
I am going to give Cinco a lecture about making sure he and China hang out on or near shore today, as I have to leave for Minka's acupuncture soon. Until then, I'll be watching for her.

Yeah she could have timed it better, but she came up a little before I left so I gave her some more food, kissed her on the forehead and told her to be a good girl. Hopefully I'll get in and out of here fairly quickly and can race home
 
What a good kitty!! Looks like she surfed all afternoon! (At least I'm hoping that's what happened...I suppose it's possible that 87 is on the way UP from some scary low number that I didn't catch)

Looking good there China....now if I may request something special?...Mama is pretty tired tonight, so if you'd just hop on your surfboard and spend the rest of the night right there at 73, mama would be REALLY happy!!

Got to tell you the rest of my day....You know the food I was supposed to get last Sunday but didn't (because China was too low)? And then yesterday (and didn't--same reason?) Well I went to pick it up today after I got out of pain clinic (they'd told me Sunday they had 2 bags) and got there and they only had 1....got almost out the door with it when "something" told me to look again and this whole time it'd had been DOG medallions, not cat!! I had to explain to the owner that yes, Natures Variety did have medallions for both dogs and cats awhile back, but then changed their formula and nixed the cat ones in favor for the "bites" that China won't eat. I guess enough people complained because they came back with the cat medallions. He looked in his ordering info and said he can't get the Cat medallions, but after discussing it awhile longer, checked another distributor that does carry them, so said he'd order them for me and call when they came in (this does me NO good at all right now!)

One good thing was that this same store carries all kinds of that new Mauri food so I grabbed a sample can of kangaroo and brushtail...should have grabbed more since they were free.

They also now have Answers frozen raw for cats....before all they've had was the goats milk and dog formulas, so I bought a carton just to see if China likes it (and what it does to her BG after the RadCat experiment) Comes in chicken and beef, but for $8.49 for 12 oz, it's awfully expensive!!

So I left with 2 small cans of Mauri and a carton of Answers and then called the "Other" specialty petfood store in Columbia to ask if they had any Natures Variety Raw medallions for cats and they said they did!! ONE bag (that's 48 medallions so about 2 weeks give or take). Now I don't HAVE to go back to Columbia until July 29th, so I guess whether I like it or not, I'm going to have to make another trip back before then and hopefully store #1 will have some in (since they owe me money from the credit I got for returning the RadCat)

WHEW I'm tired!!!

wow... I paid $3.19 a can.... and shadow doesn't like the loki fish.... or whatever it was.... i plan on taking the second can back or giving it away.

I read somewhere that I need to set raw out every day next to the food she will eat..... that some cats have to learn that it's food...
and they do that by association ... but it could take months but someday she might just decide to eat it...... so I guess I'll be setting it out for my ghost cat.... :facepalm:

Oooh, what a frustrating experience. I'm glad you got the samples. Too bad you didn't get greedy and grab a couple of extras. I hope China likes them (and they like her).

Now get some sleep. China looks like she's headed for shore patrol. Cinco is looking for mermaids.
