Yesterday's Condo

Thanks to everyone stopping by our condo... when life is a little more sane, we will be back visiting soon! Suspect the pen is done so we will start a new one tonight. The line at the pharmacy last night was really long, so I had waited. I have to go back for more hangers tonight anyway. :shock: It is amazing how uncrowded your dresser drawers become when you have closets in which to hang your clothes!!!

Willie is btb this morning, snoozing next to me. Doesn't serve as good inspiration to get on with my day!! More headbutts this morning... will be glad when we're back to normal shot time tomorrow!

Was surprised at the green number tonight! Probably could have gone with the old pen a bit longer, but went ahead and started a new one tonight. I'll be keeping an eye on him tonight and we'll be back to our normal shot time in the morning which allows me to get up to a +3 if we have any early drops.

Closing date is officially set for Tuesday. Taking that day off from work and also Friday to give me a 3 day weekend to work on getting stuff set up and to start getting smaller things moved over. Contemplating taking Willie over there with me this weekend on days where I'll be there for an extended period of time... moving and packing is so stressful, so I think it might be good if he is a part of it, and he'll be able to lounge in the backyard so maybe that will decrease his stress? He has a major abandonment complex, so I'm concerned about taking lots of stuff out of the apartment then leaving for several hours. Plus, if he is with me, we can take his juice with us and I don't have to make a potentially inconvenient trip back to the apartment for shot time. I think I'll schedule the vet visit for Friday or Saturday as well. Multitasking!

Found the perfect living room rug. Pricier than I had wanted to spend, but I'm compromising... was going to buy a new rug for the sunroom/office, but decided to keep my old living room rug and just have it cleaned instead. Got bad news on the dining room rug, though. I LOVE this rug... grey wool shag. Incredible steal at a JCP Outlet rug sale... was only $40! Willie had urinated in a couple spots pre-diagnosis, and unfortunately, when I used the rug doctor, I managed to spread the smell throughout. I contacted a rug cleaning place which referred me to another cleaner... $140+ to clean it and there's a chance it won't work. :shock: :shock: I've tried using the odor eliminator products before, but I'm going to give it one more college try with vinegar and then maybe another pet odor remover. If it doesn't work, I'll buy a new rug, but figured I'd at least give it a shot.

I really should get back to packing. But I had a beer with my bratwurst tonight and now am sleepy. Willie is sacked out next to me, so for the second time today, he's no help in the inspiration department. Earlier he was out cold on the living room floor, sleeping with his eyes open with his paws moving. Would love to know what he was dreaming about!!!

HI Christie - what a great idea to make Willie part of the moving experience. Might help him adjust. what a great idea. So willie - like it OK?

beer and bratwurst - that sounded sooooo good.

oh bummer on the one rug.... wow. i hope you will be able to take care of the Willie odor issue. I would think that the vinegar and pet odor remover would do the trick. paws crossed!

When I moved I plug the pheromone spray thingy a couple of days before moving the kitties...3 back then...it worked nicely.
 
so exciting to be in the midst of moving and figuring out a new place. i think it'd be great for willie to go back and forth with you a time or two - might be just the thing. i can't remember exactly what your yard situation is, but i always kept my cats inside for a couple of days after moving just so they KNEW this was home and to come back here. just a thought.

have you tried Nature's Miracle? you can get it at Petco - i think it's super at getting pet stains out, including the smell.
 
The sausage WAS tasty (as was the beer!)! Actually, wasn't a brat but a smoked italian sausage with mozzarella from the place down the street from the new house that makes all their own sausages. Had it with grilled onions, kraut and currywurst. sooo good! Leine's Summer Shandy to go with it and I'm about to fall asleep!! :lol: :lol: Going to make a white chili with the rest of the sausage tomorrow!
