Last day with students! :joyful: (but I still have a conference with a parent after exams today...:eek:)

WCR: Some Ps in place. I can't figure her out today. She doesn't seem to be feeling well, but her appy is ok. I opened up a can of Friskies Tuna which seems to please her Royal Highness. However, she hasn't peed since yesterday evening. Her allergies (and mine!) are going haywire, again! Her eyes are watery and she's been rubbing them or asking for lots more scritches on her face. As usual, I just sit here and worry. :nailbiting:

OT: On Friday, I did a BG check on a pretty silver tabby that was adopted back in February by the grandmother of one of my students. The grandmother was worried by the amount of water she drank & how much she peed and how much she slept (but she IS a cat)/how docile she was as a 1.5 year old. The first test registered as HI; 2nd test - 598. No formal blood work, but all indications point to diabetes (previous owners surrendered her to SPCA due to: cannot afford). First change I asked her to make was to get rid of all dry food and get her on low carb wet (FF Classics). Yesterday (Sunday), I retested and she was 387! :joyful: Only 300 more points to drop and we're golden! I'll head back over in a few days and retest (I did leave a meter, strips, lancets and ketone strips) Praying that diet change does the trick for this sugar baby. Grandmother did say that Sugar is loving the wet food; she's much more energetic & sassy and she's jumping up on tall furniture like her tall dresser and counters, etc. All good signs!

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Eating is good. Now, Shasta, how 'bout some of your notorious Sassy. Show daBean that you're feeling better.

Hooray for last day! Even if there is that annoying conference.

Morning Deborah :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Feel better! You too Shasta. Allergies are such a bummer. My son deals with that issue too. I would venture to guess that maybe that is why she seems a little off. Eating vines for you too Shasta.

How nice of you to help with that silver tabby. Sure does sounds like she's an FD kitty. I wonder too if the previous owners did know, just didn't say, when they surrendered her, hence the comment that they couldn't afford her. It is really nice that you are helping this lady. Seems the diet chnage alone has really helped alot. Kudos!

Enjoy your last day of class. :woot: Interesting on that conference on the last day. Hope it goes well.

Sending feel better and anti-allergy vines for both of you. I'm so glad you were able to help guide Sugar's Mama. I hope the diet does the trick...have a great day, Deborah!
