Good Morning, Everyone,

After yesterday's exciting day (for us, not for Rusty), we are starting out well today. Rusty had a good night, a good appetite for breakfast (first sitting eaten), refused his "lung treat" again (it's not the baby food, so it is either the Allerplex or the cat--probably the latter!), and is now sleeping in his basket. It's a cool, sunny day and Rusty will enjoy some outdoor time when it warms up a bit (it is in the low 40s at present). Lawn-mowing will finally get done today

This is what I wore to clean up the remains of the deer from the coyote "den" under our porch at camp (neighbor's camp--not ours-- in the background). There were about 12 square feet of hair and hide. Edward and I shoveled it out, along with lots of soil, just to make sure. Last week our friend had dragged the carcass, which the coyotes had left on the lawn, into the woods to decompose. There was no carrion smell in the camp (that we could detect), so the camp is now safe for Rusty. We never allow him under the cabin in any event, but of course that's where he wants to go, so sometimes he gets under the porch. Next weekend we will take him with us to camp.
Blackflies, by the way, were terrible. My hat (which my oldest friend calls my "loathesome hat") has about 35 years-worth of bug spray on it. It really works to keep the blackflies at bay. I was the only one who didn't get any bites yesterday!

Wishing you all a great day.

Ella & Rusty

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) , and some for Edward too! ~O) ~O) ~O)

What a GREAT day for Rusty! back to the lagoon for the lagoon meister.   Hey what's up with your lung treat? You tired of kitty goodies? Be sure you eat it, it is good for you. Ella - I ran not that too: hid Mannie's pills in BF etc, it worked great for a while, and then it was a no go... I hope Rusty will be back into liking them once again. You enjoy that outdoor time Rusty.

WoHOO on the lawn. kudos!

LOVE the cleanup gear! :-D  and your hat - I can see how that would keep them at bay, Good for you! LOVE the 35 years of coated bug spray. :-D   The Den clean up sounds like quite the chore, but at least now you know all will be will there. and 12sq feet? a den for sure. and of course that will be the sot Rusty wants to go, way down under. Kitties will be kitties. WooHOO on it being time for tie at Camp Stu. Every-time I think of Camp Stu it brings back such fond memories of times long ago with Stu and Mannie. :-D

Enjoy your day today. have fun with the lawn.....

Nice numbers for Rusty today. I'm glad you got everything cleaned up at camp so it will be safe for Rusty.

Another fabulous day in the Lagoon for Rusty! Lagoon is hopping Rusty - waves are great! ~Neko

Love the pic of the cleanup gear. That hat really has character. Ugh, black flies. :-x So glad we don't have those.

Hope the lawn is done by now. Darn stuff grows so fast this time of year.

Have you tried a different flavor of babyfood for Rusty and his meds? Eat your Allerplex Rusty - yum yum!

Maybe that hat is scaring Rusty's BGs to head to the lagoon to escape the black flies!

Awesome outfit, Ella! I could have used something like that today while I was out digging in raccoon poop and inhaling fungal spores and assorted gnats in the name of "gardening".

Does Rusty like Fortiflora? I used to give Bear Man his Miralax dissolved in warmed baby food, and sprinkled with Fortiflora, which some cats like. It acts like seasoning for cats that do like it. My other cats, on the other hand, wouldn't touch it. My guess is that Rusty might be in the more discerning group.

The lawn mower wouldn't start (battery dead), so we had to use the push mower. Rusty had a good long time outside, watching his beans toil. Tomorrow I'll call the guy who has fixed it in the past.

Tired!

So are you guys done with all the work outside?! Can you just put your feet up and enjoy now? Sorry to hear about the lawn mower and the black flies, but happy that there was no detectable smell....ewwwww. Rusty looks great today, as usual and I'm happy to hear that he got to spend some time outside. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Thanks for all the tips. We've tried most of them, but it always is good to try again. Rusty did finally eat most of his "lung treat" later in the morning.

The LagoonMeister is taking a rest from the lagoon tonight. The beans have a paddle tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. the hat is a wool felt "roller crusher", popular in the 1970s.

Nice numbers for Rusty!

Adorable pic! I especially like the mask  what an ick job though!!! Sounds like you have quite the amount of work to do with having to use the push mower too! Bet you sleep well tonight.
