I wouldn't tonight. She might go a little lower than usual tonight, some cats do that. Sometimes there is a little residual action the next cycle. I know it is tough for you to monitor too much at night as well, No point in forcing a PJ party. It would be good data if the hubby can get a +6 or so tonight

R is something that can be given more than once a day. However, as it is your first time and you are in data gathering mode, I might hold off tonight to see if she is one of those cats that does second cycle after R action. Then you can use R again tomorrow, as long as she is yellow or above.

I have been waiting for Phoebe to have blues since I joined the forum! This is pretty exciting. I had to look up "R" in the stickys. Congratulations. I hope she is feeling better with the blues.

Ty :) just walking on sunshine..ohhhh..walking on sunshine wooah...

@saltycat @Sandy and Black Kitty @Wendy&Neko now I give her it again tonight or depends on numbers? Or just once a day?
I'm with Wendy and Wes - the cycle following the R cycle is important to watch.
Whatever the outcome it will be valuable data.
You have an advantage in that you are not having to learn to use R in the midst of a crisis. You have the luxury of time to get to 'Know thy Cat" with regards to R.

Learning when not to use R is as important as learning when to use it.

I want to caution you that the power of R can be very seductive. It is in fact a double edged sword. Its easy to get caught on (and painful to get off of) the R merry-go-round, an endless loop of shooting down a high number, triggering a bounce and grabbing the R to shoot down the resulting ugly number... (and so on and so forth)

It was a lovely and delightful R trial cycle today! (most first time R trials are non events)
I am wondering how the PM cycle is playing out....
Regarding tomorrow., if AMPS is over 240 and Phoebes ears can take it, you could shoot 0.25uR again.

if AMPS is over 240
She was 231, and o shot both before o saw this, because was told if on yellows could shoot. She ate middle of night eats at 330 but did not eat much at 6. Picked it up for 815 pmps. She ate for the R and lantus but then proceeded to puke 10 mins later. She has had her cerenia and zofran.

That is close enough to 240 that I would not be too concerned. I would however still get those tests in since you don't have much data yet on how Phoebe responds to the R insulin.

Caution noted, but unnecessary. I have had my patience pants on long enough to know this is not a fix all. I just want her getting into some healing numbers so her little battered body can rest. I am ok with giving her insulin the rest of her life. Just want for her body to have a rest. I saw how powerful it is and do not take it lightly. :) thank you for your guidance. It's much appreciated.
