Well this was a surprise this morning. He didn't eat the last of the food I put out like he normally does if lower and tried to hack up a hairball about a half hour before I tested him. Double checked with the Arkray and got 74.

Tricia, Max has been eating fine lately(anti-jinx). I'm just nervous about continuing the ff because it's so high phosphorus and Max hasn't found a premium food he likes up until now. So yes the search continues.

What do you have planned for today, Max?

Prayers and vines to all in need and those healing from the loss of their beloved fur babies as well as congrats to those nearing a food trial. I won't name them as I don't want to jinx them.

Wow Max. That AMPS opened my eyes wide this morning! What might you have planned for today? A nice flat surf, maybe. Oh, wait. This is Max. ;)

Hope it's a good day, Elise. For both of you.

Marilyn and Polly

He's back in the lagoon. Thanks Carla, Steve, Bron, Lori, Marilyn for willing him back there

Have you tried the Weruva brand of cat food for Max?
I home prepare for Sheba but put a little canned in for carbs into the +2 meal and I use cats in the kitchen Weruva brand. A lot of their cans and pouches are low phosphorus. We can only get 'cats in the kitchen' and BFF here in Aus but I'm sure you can get the whole range.
It is high quality food.

Yes I've tried all three. Sometimes he will ear Weruva but mostly not. Cats in the Kitchen wasn't a hit either. He eats Stella & Chewys mixed in his ff sometimes but it's high phos as well. He was a dey food junkie for the first five years of his life until he had a urinary blockage and he used up a few of his nine lives whe. The vet pierced his bladder. So after that he was on Hikls cd Until pancreatitis and then my vet said to feed him any canned food. He only are the high carb ones that were in pieces until he became diabetic. I was lucky he transitioned easily to the classics.

I share your frustrations with trying to get him to eat the lower phosphorous stuff. I had a good run there for a while when I had about 6 or 7 different foods on my playlist that were good for them that they would eat, and then one by one they started taking a dislike to them. We're down to only about three from the original list, and a couple of new ones added in, but sometimes I have to break down and get out the FF. I try to stick with the Savoury Salmon as much as I can, as it's the lowest in Phos of them all, but sometimes they don't want that, either.

Max had an absolutely gorgeous surf today and tonight. Not too low, not to high (we're ignoring food spikes, which weren't that bad, anyway). Keep up the good work, Max!

The frustrating thing about low phos foods is Max would eat the high carb ones and was doing well with his kidney numbers. I had several he liked which I now sometimes use as hc and he still likes them. He likes ff sliced and Hills that has pieces. I forget the name right now. Lower phos often means higher carbs. Frustrating YES!
