It's been a while, but we wanted to give an update on Luna. She just had a vet appointment last week, and all her bloodwork came back looking good. Everything was in the normal range except for fructosamine which was "Fair". Not unexpected since she's still up and down, but our vet isn't concerned considering everything else looked good. Every time we go in for an appointment, he tells us how amazed he is that we made it to this point. She's like a fuzzy legend in their office. The new staff knows about her before they ever meet.
Overall her numbers are improving. We're taking our time and following the advice of our vet, and she seems to be responding. We're holding her doses longer than most on the board, but gone are the days of green to red (see October 2019). Instead we're seeing a flatter curve of mostly yellow and blue. She still bounces when we get around 150, but they're only lasting a day before she clears. The last couple of days have been looking pretty good, so we're going to stay the course and wait to see if she gets used to these lower numbers. Flat blue all day would be fine with us.
Our vet thinks we can wait 6 months for our next appointment instead of the every 3 we have been doing, so another small victory for Luna.
We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
