Hi LL!

Eddie had a lovely green cycle last night and earned himself a reduction to 1.25u. Fingers and toes and paws crossed that he will be able to hold it. Today's AM cycle looks like a blue bouncette cycle with a peak of 170, which Eddie cleared heading into PMPS. It looks Eddie might be on a bit of a mission again tonight.  I fed a little extra higher carb - low carb at PM +3 to slow him down a little bit.

Despite me poking him 8 million times in the last two days, Eddie is sound asleep draped over my feet right now on the couch, and he snuggled with me this morning while I slept in and DH took care of test duties. cat_pet_icon

Is Eddie doing it "wrong" by earning reductions while he's still bouncing a lot? Should he be flattening out - or should we be working a lot harder to cut off those low numbers before they happen?

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and that everyone has a good start for the week tomorrow.

Okay Eddie, holding tight is one thing. Don't go any lower please. The night is young!!

I think I've seen this show before. Nice of Eddie to save it for the night.

I don't think there is a "wrong" way to do this when it comes to bouncing. Cats will bounce until they don't. I've seen some bounce their way into remission and others do the flat and steady route. And, I would not call 170 that much of a bounce. ;-)

One thing you might want to think about tonight - this is rather close to his last reduction and back to back reductions usually don't hold. Of course Eddie has had a thing to say about that in the past. You could try some medium carb food and see if you can steady him off now.

Great job on DH taking care of the morning test duties while Eddie was snuggling with you. :-D

Hi Elise! Thanks for stopping by! The nice thing is that when Eddie dips early like this, he usually seems to flatten out and surf a little bit earlier, so I can get to bed before the birds start singing.

Hi Wendy!

Yeah, I think I've seen this before, too!  I'm so grateful that Eddie likes to do this at night for the most part. I am nervous about what happens if he decides to head for the bottom of the lagoon while I'm at work. I have yet to lock up Eddie with the autofeeder during the day, but I think the time is coming. I do think I'm going to try to prop him up a bit tonight with some extra carbs to avoid dipping too low.

I'm so grateful that DH participates in Eddie's care. He does a lot of the feeding and shooting, and tests when I ask him to. He has no idea what the numbers mean and really would rather leave any decision making or analyzing to me, but he diligently does as he's asked. :-D I don't know how single caregivers do this and still work and sleep. @-)
