6/08 Merlin PMPS 220, 284@+1, 284@+2,223@+3,191@+4,191@+4, 124@+7.5

247 @+2. Slow… but why? I thought that would be the biggie. Should I wait a whole hour to test? Feed just in case? Now I am confused. Is this going to be a surfing in yellow cycle, or will the drop come this hour? It’s been an hour since the last 7.7 food. Is there a scheduled +2 now?

I don’t think there is any point in doing a +2.5 if he hasn’t been dropping a lot.
We don’t know when he will drop, if he does. Every cycle is different so we just have to wait and see.
I know there was a scheduled feed for +2 but I think if he has not dropped like today, I would be inclined to feed it a bit later. Your decision though.

187 @+3. He seems really hungry…would it be ok to give him a snack now? I have a note that says dont feed in blue, only in green to keep them surfing there, but I dont know if he’ll get down that far today.

Just beautiful +4.
Yes. I like this. I am thinking of going to the beach and leaving Ivy to do a test at +5… I wonder if he will keep dropping into green today. Though he has never before dropped into green after +4. She has to go out after that. I dont think there’s any danger after that point, am I right? It would just be interesting to see a +5 and maybe catch the nadir. Another thing is he is scheduled for a lc snack at +4. Would 8 g of 1.9 ruin things at this point?

I'm thinking that the 220 PMPS was just that the insulin was still keeping him controlled and that he was probably on his way up already... then he ate a little and you got the 284. It's not unusual for a lot of cats to have a +1 higher than the pre-shot number... it's just not been the case with Merlin the Diver so far on his insulin journey.

Question: Merlin is still dropping 124@ +7.5. It’s very unusual for him at this point. He may be bottomed out, or not…Should I feed? Will he keep going down? It doesn’t look like he will be back up by ps… He seems fine, because this is still blue and safe, but don’t know what, if anything to do.

He’s having a lovely cycle. I don’t think you need to feed him. He has plenty of time to go back up for the next ps.
You rarely test this late in the cycle so he could easily do this more than you realise.

Oh thank you, Bron. It’s just that he started dropping much later than usual.

I wonder if he will be high enough by 845 am AMPS (shoot time 9)… But i am going back to bed for a while. Thanks!
He’s only at+7 so he has lots of time to go back up and he will do that when the insulin wears off. If you do a test in a couple of hours and he hasn’t risen much you could give a small low carb snack then. But I’d let him stay in the lower numbers for as long as possible.
