Obie is doing fine. You are hoping for instant results, and this process just does not work that way. Please consider not changing his dose for at least a week, unless either ketones present, or he goes really low mid cycle.
If none of those things happen, then this time is for his liver and pancreas to slowly get used to having lower numbers SOME of the time. We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for subtle correction that moves towards being in a good range over the day, but that usually takes weeks or even months (and some cats dont ever get there). Overnight regulation is not going to happen. But eventually he will be in better shape.
Sammy was down to 8 pounds, dehydrated, weak, and testing BG at 600 at diagnosis. She is now 12 pounds, has regained muscle, eats, sleeps, plays and is healthy, off the juice now for 4 and a half months. For her, it took 142 days to get there. Worth every single one of them to end up saving her life and now enjoying her health.
Hold on honey. We will be here with you.
