I can't thank everyone enough for all the pilling/gelcap tips yesterday. This morning, Trix was not being fooled by any sort of treat-wrapped fortiflora dusted pill, so I put on my newest version of BOS, loaded up the gelcap with her BP meds, famotidine, and a small piece of cypro and got that pup down her throat. It took about 5 tries, but we did it. I think now that we made it through once, it should get easier. She was a little freaked out by it, but I think because she didn't have the bitter pill flavor to battle, she was LESS freaked out than when I was trying to get just the pills in her mouth. And, I have to say, it was a stress relief for me to know I didn't have to approach her with another round of pills and pray that she would take them!
We have an 11:40 appointment for a BP check and quick once over. Overall, I'd say she's about the same...she's eating well enough but needs my encouragement most of the time. Her energy is "eh". But she is definitely much, much better than she was at the beginning of this...she is giving me snuggles and purrs and is being somewhat social. Baby steps. Vetty had recommended this appointment be in a week or two, but I need it for my peace of mind...especially since I do wonder about the possibility of her BP now being a bit too low. This will answer that question and ease my mind....at least I hope it will ease my mind!
With that...I am running late and have to get myself in motion, since I do have to run in to work for a short bit before her appointment. One of these days I really hope to regroup my wits and brains so I can spend more time visiting, but please be assured I think about everyone every single day. Many hugs to my wonderful LL family!
