Morning everyone - I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day, and that your furkids treated you well. Mannie had a really nice day yesterday - mostly blues, with a dip into the greens during the AM cycle. :mrgreen: That was nice to see, as my DGS and family were over for Mom's day. I have wondered if the baby's being here affected his BG - didn't seem to yesterday, what with the low blues and the green. Interesting.... :cool: :-D The PM cycle was great. I loved the 134 pmps. I did have to shoot early, and feed him a higher carb food as my DS and I were off to a music show. My youngest son's band was playing in Seattle, and well - my other son has never been able to hear him play, so off we went. What with the low blue and the half hour early shoot, and the no monitoring I played it safe, fed him a 10%. DH was able to keep the food going while we were gone. It was nice to see the 186 when we got home - and that I didn't overcarb him too badly. :cool: Thanks Mannie for a job well done. cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. I was awake this morning to whiskers and a wet nose in and on the face - a few soft meows and purrs. :razz: Seems the boy was hungry :shock: and wanted his breffis. So up the stairs I went, needing ~O) , got all prepped, and Mannie was MIA :shock: Weird - all that effort in getting me up, and he then disappears. Silly Bean!! Should have known: found him in the midst of a nanner cuddle session... well, duh! Breffis was finally consumed, clean plate club intact, civvie bowl raid attempted, only to find that they too believed in the clean plate club. SWEET! So - back to the nanners, for some serious chew, lick, slobber, cuddle, roll, squeeze, sleep. Normalcy in MannieLand.

Have a great day everyone! Not too sure what is up here today - waiting on the Paving company to redo my driveway. They say this morning - I hope they show. All is so weather driven here. today, please no rain.... and we have clouds.... :roll:

KITTIES!!!! Yes! We are back to the big apple!! party in Central Park, with Rusty. ooooooooooooo - more hot dogs! More cart vendors! I wonder if Rusty will appear at the Met again..... But - hey carriage rides in the park. Maybe we can get some of them paddle boats too. Bus is all ready for our road trip, niptinis prepared, snackus aboard.... let's roll! ~ Mannie

Silly Mannie! I love to get woken up with whiskers and kisses. Tarragon likes to sit right up next to my face and stare at me until I flinch or put a paw on my eye to try and get them to open.

I love how Mannie has been churning out these nice cycles and really great last night so you could go out!! Hope he keeps it up but from his +2, I bet he'll be in green today!!

I'm so glad you had such a great day yesterday and got to go listen to DS's band!! Driveway paving? Does that mean you have to park your cars in the street for a few days? Is it ashpalt they are putting down? Hope they get it done so you can get back to normal.

Mannie!! I LOVE THE BIG APPLE!!! Tobey can't wait to get some of those hot dogs!!

Morning Melissa - oh me too! I wish he'd do it more often... the three o them leave the wake-up call to the eldest civvie who will stand at the foot of the bed and bellow as loud as she can. One gets up out of desperation, and just to shut her up. :lol: :lol: If that doesn't work then she gets as close as she can out come the claws, and the shoulder becomes a scratching post. :shock: that one definitely works. I prefer Mannie's method. :lol: :cool: :razz:

Hi Marje - I was grateful, but a little worried - aren't we always. I just don't like bumping up a shoot time, know he's in a low blue, and then not being able to monitor the first two hours... aiyee! but in true Mannie fashion, he held the line, was safe, and I worried needlessly.... Band was really good - loud, but worth seeing the kid play. -- and yes: driveway. yep - had to park up the street, at least through tomorrow. I ended up with asphalt. I really wanted concrete, but the price was astronomical. It's a "long" driveway, and this alone was $3000.00. OUCH!

Gracie - cool! I am glad that you guys are all set. Tobey will get his fill today. See you guys! ~~ Mannie

Tommy - awesome dude - I am on the way. We got a real cool tour bus - me and the kitties have fixed it all up: we gots plasma tv, hot tub and sauna, our own hotdog cart, and grillin' stoves, all kinds of cool stuff. Green for the Mannie!!! :mrgreen: The visit with all the family yesterday sure didn't mess up his numbers. It sounds like you had a great evening listening to the band -- you lead such a more exciting life than me! Hope the nanner king continues to look fantastic today and tonight.

Hi Georgia - he did OK with Nicholas yesterday - maybe the stress of it all doesn't mess with his numbers. Still tracking that for a bit longer.... Oh I don't know about the exciting life - :lol: :razz: , but I do love to hear my son play. He plays lead guitar in this band. I am constantly amazed at how well he really does play, and if there's a chance to go listen, I go. Even with it as LOUD as it is.

I don't have time to hit many condo's until later today, but I had to take a break and read about Mannie the Nanner King and what's been up with you. You lead an eventful life so it's fun to read all about it. BTW...my daughter plays guitar, studied classical for 7 years and also plays rock and country. I've always loved to listen to her play. My house was the house where she and her friends would come to plug in and crank up the amps because I never minded. At least I knew they weren't getting into trouble!!! For Mother's Day yesterday, she made me a CD where she sang two songs for me. She wouldn't let me listen to it while she was here, but I listened to it today and it made me cry...it was soooo sweet. She's not the best singer, but it sounded like a million bucks to me!!!

I hope the paving goes well, and that they sprinkled some gold dust in there for the money they charge!! :lol: Have a great day!!!

Hi Barbara - been a good one, Mannie seems to like this board that he is on. what a nice surf! And yep - love to be able to hear the kid play. There just aren't that many shows that I can go to..

Hi patty - Nice on having a guitar player in your family too. My DS is completely self taught. We could never fit guitar lessons in his schedule, as he was also a swimmer, which was hours upon hours every day in the pool. He really wanted to learn guitar, so studied video after video, theory books, etc... he eventually became very good at it. He's based in rock, loves the blues, classic rock. this band is a heavy metal band :roll: but has given him the exposure he seeks as far as shows, etc., and hopes it will help establish him, get him into the genre that he really prefers. Time will tell. anyways.... he too would crank up the amps at home, every night. I never minded - it was so nice to hear him grow as a musician. Very nice on the CD that your daughter made you. That is great! -- and yes - I'm still looking for the gold dust on the new driveway. :lol: :lol: expensive, but it does look great, and sure beats what was there before.

Nice getting the driveway done. Don't you love the smell of TAR? :lol: :lol: Laughing but I do :lol: :lol: :lol: Glad it is done and you can get up to the house soon. Don't blame you on the concrete...it is expensive altho the asphalt was certainly a pretty penny. I would love to have all the concrete pulled up on ours and brick pavers put down but we also have a long driveway. We did have it overlaid and stained a few years ago so it looks pretty nice but still.....brick uh huh! I love the old timey look.

Your son sounds very talented as does Patty's daughter!! That is really, really cool!!

Hi Marje - oh yes on the TAR! omg... One can still smell it. oh YES!!!!! on the brick - pavers anything along that line. What I would give for that - a neighbor down the street did that - it is so stunning. sure beats my pricey asphalt! :lol: :lol: :lol: and yes on my kid. It's all he's ever truly wanted to do - play guitar, make music. I think what amazes me the most about it all, besides the passion that he has, is that he did this all on his own. No instruction, no formal training, just alot of perseverance, and practice practice practice. I cannot tell you the number of time I have listened to the same riffs over an over and over until he was satisfied that he had played it right. omg! He'd spend hours watching videos of guitar guys in concert, watching finger work, chord progressions, etc... well anyways - It has been a joy. all on his own.
 
Very nice.

That is really amazing about your son.....it sounds like he knows how to commit himself to something very important to him. I wish him the best of luck in his career. Great that he has such supportive folks.
