My friend is fostering a special needs cat... his name is Mufasa. He's 13, and a persian. He was found walking about five minutes from the shelter two months ago. No one has called looking for him and no online postings or notices up at vets offices. He has a "sebaceous cyst" causing a big head tilt and he can't close his right eye. I saw him when both times when I went there. I adopted Henry and Victoria there. He stole my heart. After losing Maverick my heart would not open enough for a high needs cat. But he totally stole the heart of my friend. She brought him to her house yesterday. She has four cats already. One is blind and diabetic, one hyper T, and two other kitties and her older Sheltie dog. The shelter feels right now with his health unknown, and his age that it would be too costly and too risky to do anything. My friend feels at a minimum he will be loved and secure in her home. She'll wait until he's settled in, get some blood work done and a consult with her vet to see what the options are.

Here is Mufasa:

I can't wait to go visit him at her house!!!!!!!

He looks a lot like Rusty: same coloring, same long fluffy coat. Maybe he's got some Maine Coon in him.
Kudos to your friend for taking him in. I hope he will find a forever home.

He's beautiful, just gorgeous. And what an amazing person your friend is, such a huge heart. Blessings upon her.

He is just beautiful Karrie
Well I have yet to get my flower pics up but here is a link to some recent kitten pics

https://picasaweb.google.com/1012644610 ... directlink

These are the children of the Mom that attacked me and are adopted by Batgirl pics soon to follow both litters are 9 weeks old now. We are keeping one of the girls after I get back my DNA tests on them. The ruddy male in the pics is going to a breeder in France.

Hi Karrie, beautiful kitty and so kind of your friend to adopt and love him. I wish her luck at the Vet, too!

Hi Lisa, for some reason the link isn't working on my computer. Let's see if others can open it - may be just my silly software or old laptop! Cam't wait to see the babies!

Lisa I can't see your pics either. I forgot the story about the mom that attacked you. Can you refresh my memory? Can't wait to see pics.

Georgia has a video of Simon up in her condo too

Thanks for the nice comments on Mufasa and my friend fostering him. I think she has a big heart and he is one very lucky kitty.

link still isn't working, lisa.

love mufasa's pics - he looks like a wooly guy!

i'm wasting the day trying to readjust to west coast time. usually i don't have a problem with jet lag, but we'd just gotten there and then turned around and came home - and with all the random napping throughout the days, my body is thoroughly messed up.

so gosh, i have to sit here and hold punkin while i watch HGTV. what a shame.

i'm glad to be home, glad to be with the kitters, but it was so good to see my niece graduate and spend time with my brother and his family.

OMG Lisa they are so utterly adorable!!!! Their ears and their colour are so cute. I've never seen these kittens/cats before FDMB. I can see why people fall in love with them.

oh they are adorable! looks like they've got bunny ears! what breed of cat are they?

Lisa breeds Abyssinians

I have one from a different breeder. They have such huge ears... that are great for ear poking if needed :-D ;-) My Aby's ears

And the rest of him:

Great pics of the new kittens, Lisa  Wish my Aby was still in that cute stage but he's grown. He's 9 months now  And is crazy, energetic, and a troublemaker @-)

Civies are getting their cat tree this weekend  There was a bit of problem with the pet store getting the tree so I had planned on going to a cat show this weekend where the cat tree company will have a display. But then I got a call from the pet store and they got the tree in and it's ready to be picked up. I was thinking of putting the tree in the corner by the window and move the (falling apart) modular playground that's currently there either over a bit or to the other wall.

Your cats must love the toys/trees setups you have - you have the cube setup thing right?

Yes, I have a modular kitty plaground thing. It's starting to fall apart from the abuse both civies give it. The nylon material doesn't hold up to kitty claws, even trimmed ones, and the scratching posts are shredded because Emma loves to scratch. It was an inexpensive thing I bought. I might eventually replace it with the modular playground at CatsPlay.com That one seems much more sturdier.

leroy the troublemaker is gorgeous!!

Thanks :-D

not sure whether to say "poor kitty" for having ears so big and poke-able, or "yay" for having ears so big and poke-able! but your leroy looks quite regal. he must be related to Nefertiti's (sp?) cats!

LISA!!! How adorable they are.....I LOVE the one with the dark fur on the top of his head. And those ears!! They are just the sweetest looking kittens and their coat colors are magnificent. Thanks for sharing!!

Lol  Hopefully I'll never ever have to poke his ears for a bg test. My other civie, Emma, has teeny ears and they're black but I'm sure I could easily get a good poke from her. 4 years of poking Squishy's ears and I can probably do it in my sleep now

Leroy's looks are deceiving. He's handsome but such a troublemaker @-) Last night both he and Emma were running around like crazy for hours and crashing into things @-) Finger crossed for no complaint from a neighbor about the noise nailbite_smile

Karrie, Mufasa is beautiful, sure does look like there might be some Maine Coon there..
Your friend just proves that Angels do walk among us..For Mufasa, whatever problems that he may have or will be going through, you have to believe he's where he belongs for now and knows how much he is loved at this very moment.
Blessings and big Hugs to your friend. Thank you for sharing that with us

Lisa, the kittens are gorgeous. They don't ever really grow into those ears do they.
I sure hope not. I just wanna kiss and squeeze 'em. They are so cute..
