I have to be up and out of the house at 5:45 am so tonight is a night I cannot be up worrying all night so I am stalling and will see where he is in an hour. Might have to forego a shot or lower his dose. Will wait and see. He started the day out sky high - 575!!!! But then he came back down. My patience pants are on but I do have to get some sleep tonight. :-(

I'd re-test in 30 min. You want to see which way the numbers are heading sooner rather than later.

He's at 72 and that's after eating dinner. He's used to eating at 9:30 after his shot so I couldn't withhold. Time to skip one shot tonight? Or decrease? What do you suggest?

Well, the problem is that you fed Elian. Regardless of what he expects (and whether he'll gnaw on your ankle), if you're stalling you don't want to feed. There's no way to know if the 72 and the next test will reflect the influence of food. While you're waiting for the next test, you might want to take a look at Libby's post on dealing with low pre-shots.

He didn't eat much and I knew I shouldn't feed but I have to be up so early I was pretty much getting everything done so that I could get to bed. I remember you mentioning another time something like I could pretend I got a furrshot and forego giving it to him tonight. I may be mistaken. But like I said - I have to get some sleep tonight. Between night testing and being up worried about him when he was hurt I haven't had much sleep. And I have to do an airport run at 5:45 am. I will stay up a little longer to test again and then decide what to do. Possibly a BCS dose. :-(

He's only at 75 +13. I'm going to pretend he got a furrshot and call it a night. I will be back in the morning to give him his am shot. I just can't risk him going too low during the night.

Personally, I hate skipping but you gotta do what you gotta do! It's important to take care of yourself, as well.

Thanks for understanding! But knowing me - between worrying about him and worrying about not getting up for airport run I will be up all night. My testing supplies and his shot are on my nightstand to the left of me and Elian is curled up to my right so if he starts to go up I'm prepared not to skip!
