Good Morning Lantus Land, ~O) ~O) ~O)

Very special thoughts and prayers going out for Chester/Tiko today. It is amazing what a small group of people can do with the right motivation, can you help? I think this cat moved me because his situation is very similar to Attie's with coming into foster care and then crashing. Everybody wanting to get this guy a second chance and like Attie's caregivers at the time...believing he should have that chance and fighting for it.

Yesterday's Condo

Attie is up had breffis, didn't eat his late night beef snack ? So, when I realized that 12% was still sitting in the feeder waiting for him and he realized it was there, the race to the feeder was on! I didn't dispose of it until I checked his readings this morning...still using that little Relion meter three tries today to get a drop of blood big enough for a paws-crossed accurate reading....117,105, and finally a 156. Sheesh... Attie got his breffis and a rub out with neosporin on his ear. It didn't seem to break his frisky, feisty, purry mood though  .

You know, he really is such a very good boy! He hardly ever complains...it leaves that to his bean! Purrs through most tests, pokes, and even for all his fussiness with the brush...he is growling and purring at the same time. Cheese summits and taking on the grandpa role well.

I've been doing some spring cleaning and came across a bit of ceramics my Mom made for me. It is a piece that is well over 20 years old. My Mom passed away back in 1996 and was sick quite a few years beforehand with a neurological wasting. So, my estimate is it is over 20 years old. I'll get a pic up in a little while, but it stunned me as I looked at it. You'll see why without me having to explain. I have an acquaintance that says all the cats in your life are actually people from a past life and the souls of loved ones.

OMG my mom passed away the same year with the exact same thing..

I have been thinking of switching the the Relion, as the test strips for the One Touch are getting more and more expensive on EBay. Is it really that hard to get a big enough drop for the Relion?

That was funny about the race to the food bowl  I bet he won.

I hope you and yours have a good spring day :-D

Morning Dyana, my Mom had Lou Gehrig's. Horrible...horrible way to die. To have that happening to your body...and not lose your mind?

I have a really difficult time with the Relion, but it is my back-up meter. I am using it now because funds are very short this month. I am also using a 28g lancet. For all the talk at times of cheap strips, if I am blowing through several strips to get accurate readings it doesn't seem like a savings to me. Like I said, Attie doesn't complain...his bean does it for him.

I normally get the FreeStyle Lite strips from American Diabetes Wholesale. I may have to find my way clear to place an order and just suck it up for the shipping fee. Orders over $100 don't pay shipping and the strips are only a few dollars more than the Relion.

Now, you've got my curiosity up about that found ceramic piece. Good Monday morning, Attie.

Good morning Dyana! Attie is starting off your Monday right! I am looking at switching meters as well. The strips on mine are way too expensive. Let me know how you like yours!

Have a great day!

Nice start for the day Attie and I love MudCat's photo...she's adorable.

That's very touching about your mom's ceramic she made for you. Would love to see the photo. Amazing how one little thing can bring back so much to us. Hugs!!

oh my on the ceramic - that is uncanny! I would have been stunned too.

thanks for posting the link on Chester/Tiko. I've been trying to follow the story on FB. It is one remarkable story. I am so taken back by the number of folks that are there trying to help Tiko. It is very heartwarming. I am rooting for the little guy. One tough fighter he is.

I LOVE the race to the food bowl.

a now Attie - back to you. Now what are you doing on that pink floor. Pink is uncool, and you need to find those blues and greens again. OK?

and as a side note - my mom had Lou Gherig's too. She fought that for 5 years.

That's stunning, Beth! I'm a deep believer in the mystical, so i'm not surprised, but i think it's wonderful!
