Yesterday

Jones was CPC both meals yesterday on 1 can of FF. So, I am adding in another 1/4 can into his dish to see if we can get a touch more calories in. Did not do the SEB last night for him as I fell asleep on the couch. Woke up drooling on the pillow. Bad, ugly scene.

Civvie Rain - she was CPC of her wet food with a half dose of SEB in it. So far so good. Did that again today.

Both got the chicken with probiotic on it yesterday.

Thanks for the suggestion Carla and Stacy...things are working out pretty good so far.

Should be getting the lab results back today hopefully just don't know if our vet is in as she is doing part time work.

Vines for Bubba and all the other kitties that need them today.

Well, he didn't eat the extra portion in his dish today but at the standard whole can of FF. Got his BW and urinalysis. Information has been updated in his SS. No bacteria seen and she doesn't think there is a UTI. I thought we were doing the culture but I guess not. Not sure if we should get that done now are not.

All looks good but he is slightly anemic. The vet said some pets with chronic diseases get this. I know there is information on Tanya's site so will check that out. Vet said there is not much to do until really low then transfusion is done. I think there must be something.

That all said, she said he was clear for a dental. Got a quote for $1300 - $1600. Will need to review it.

And found out he vomited right after I gave him his meds tonight. Not sure if they stayed down or not. Not sure why he vomited but he will get his probiotic and SEB tonight.

There most certainly is something, with HCT at 25% you can start giving Vitamin B supplements.

Here is the link to Tanya's CRF specifically on B vitamins,

and I know others here have tried B12 specifically, I hope they chime in. Sadly, I don't have experience, my CRF kitty's HCT dropped too quickly and we had to go straight to an erythropoietin agent to try and get the anemia under control. Jones is still in a good range slightly low than normal, the B vitamins should help :bighug:

I’m sorry he vomited. :(

Yes, look at Asia’s labs, her HCT went up and was at the low end of normal before. The b vitamins can help for certain kinds of anemia, specifically b vitamin deficient kind associated with CKD because of their dilute urine. Jones seems to have some awesome kidneys, so I don’t know if that would work for him, but all the different kinds and treatments are discussed on tanya’s:
