+1 299, 1.0oz 10%, 7 drops kidney liq

Zener is doing fine this morning. I had to chase him around a bit for his 1st breffis but he is eating his 2nd now with some gusto. Detective Poo did spot the suspect engaging in the so-called "happy crap dash", which will be reported to the Chief Inspector. Nice yellow start to the morning and we hope to avoid the pink floor altogether. Paws crossed on that one. We are off to the vet this morning for a follow-up on the anal gland expression of a couple of weeks ago. Tillie also gets to go this time and meet Dr. Miller. She will be thrilled, but not in a good way. Especially since she is probably going to have a dental.

Thinking of Rocket and Claudia, Leo and Tracy, Bella and Lyresa.

Serryn: we agree - no need to bounce!

Happy Tuesday LL!
Liz

  I'm glad Zener did his thing today. Mags is lagging in that arena. Sending good Vetty vines for Zener and expressing his anal glands. And Tillie, too, many vines and hoping she doesn't need a dental.
Thanks so much for sending more AT strips. :YMHUG:

Nice start this morning Zener - I hope you can stay off of the pink floor! Be careful that +1 is mighty close.

Good vetty vines for all. Be good kitties!

Re: 5/8 Zener AMPS 210;+1 299;+2 219

   You crack me up. Nice sunny start for Zener. Sounds like he is feeling good and that is definitely what counts. Hope you all have a great day! Are you out now for the summer?

Liz - I keep forgetting to answer you on Mason's hand. Sorry!! It is coming along. He finally lost the two fingernails and the new ones are about 1/2 way grown. He is now able to use it to pick things up, but still can't rely solely on that hand. Time time time. He is very fortunate, as you know as an engineer, that he did not lose the fingers or the hand completely. He learned some important lessons, mainly that concrete is hard and don't be a hero.

Re: 5/8 Zener AMPS 210;+1 299;+2 219;+3 151;+5 90

Vet report: both kitties had something to say about their anal gland expression and it was not pretty, but it was productive. Zener is totally miffed at us, this is the grumpiest I've ever seen him in his whole live. It didn't help when the roofing guy rang the doorbell then got up on the roof either. Tillie is scheduled for a dental in a couple of weeks. She will not be happy about that either. We are in the dog house!

Zener has made a dramatic appearance at the lagoon this afternoon. We will play tag team bean as Anne goes to a seminar then I give an exam.

well glad all survived vetty. sorry for the rear end experience there kitties, but I bet you feel better. Zener apparently decided to reward you for your efforts with a nice green at +5.

yeah.... I know that dog house. I end up there any time I try to brush the big guy. in his opinion: so so not cool.

Re: 5/8 Zener AMPS 210;+1 299;+2 219;+3 151;+5 90

oh, i can't tell you the incredible amount of self control i am using to not post anything about The Adventures of "Detective Poo" on your facebook wall, liz . . .

poor kitters. punkin is sending sympathy to zener and tillie! :YMHUG: he doesn't even like me brushing his furry maine coon man thighs! ;-)

Ah, the afternoon is finally as kitties wish - quiet with serious napping. :-D

Today
05/08/12 Zener
AMPS 210, 8th cycle @s1.5u, 2/3PP, 1/8 Zantac, 1/4 ondansetron, 1/32t Miralax, sprinkle sisu enzymes, 1.15oz 10%
+1 299, 1.0oz 10%, 7 drops kidney liq
+2 219, 1PP, 3mg Zobaline, 0.85oz 10%
~3 151, 1 treat - we are running a little late for the vet with no time for food, so gave Zener a treat to be safe - negative ketones & glucose
+5 90, 0.5oz 10%
+6 51. 2 treats. 0.5oz 10%
+6.5 64, 2 treats, 0.45oz 10%
+8 91

We have to give the big guy several HC treats today because of our schedules and his amazing drop to  post-vetty visit. Expecting to see higher numbers later after his post-vet and carb fest.

@Devon - he really likes to please you! Bringing it down as instructed.

@Ann & Maggie - Zener is enthusiastic about most everything, especially pooping outside!

@Michelle & Mannie - Zener has managed to stay away from the pink floor so far today. Not sure what will happen this PM when post-vetty and carb fest kicks in. :? Both kitties seem have forgiven us for the expression indignities of the morning.

@Melissa & Mr T - the big guy is definitely feeling better these days and we are so grateful! :-D Good report on Mason, hope he has a good hand therapist!

@Roni - Zener has had appy issues that started with his diagnosis after the polyphagia was controlled and when we made the transition to wet food. Then, he had all these motility problems post-dental. We got such great help here in LL and from Karrie and the assisted feeding group. We still hold our breath when we put his bowl down, but his appy is so much better lately. Liz and I are brainstorming on what our official poo patrol uniforms should look like - thinking of colors like the UPS uniforms.

@julie - throw your self-control to the wind and post away! The Adventures of Detective Poo and Chief Inspector Crapdash could be a best seller!

@Marje - our rounding up of the kitters for the vet visit today was full of growls, meows and pee on beans. Thank goodness everything went well at the vet's! We decided that efficiency by taking both kitties at the same time was NOT worth the drama. Zener is so laid back about it all, but he got cranked up because the Queen got all hyper. So, we don't plan on doing the double visit next time.

We had not been able to get a ketone test in over a week since the big guy is doing his business outside or in his litter box. We're are very happy about his improved peeing behaviors but it does create a bean challenge for ketone testing. ;-) As we were rounding up the cats for the vet visit, my assignment was to get Zener in his carrier. Liz took on the bigger challenge of collecting the Queen of Everything. Zener was very keen to go outside when I picked him up and once Liz got Tillie all heck broke loose. (Note to beans - taking both kitties at the same time seemed like a good idea. ) As Tillie started meowing, Zener started wiggling to get down and I felt a very warm liquid on my stomach. Now I knew why the big guy was so keen to go outside! :? Good news, a very fresh urine sample for testing - and all negative for ketones and also no glucose! :-D

Completed 8 cycles at skinny 1.5u and things look pretty good so far. In the recent past, reductions below 1.5 have not held so we have paws crossed!

Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday evening. cat_pet_icon

Re: 5/8 Zener PMPS 146

Nice blue for Zener! Glad that the dose is working for her!
Is the Zobaline helping Zener? I am giving Rosy the Zobaline for her neuropahy. She had loss strength at her rear legs since Feb & is walking on her hocks since.

@Helen - We still give Zener the Zobaline but he is now walking as normally as he did before his FD diagnosis. Zener's rear legs have been weaker since birth because of cerebellar hypoplasia, so we didn't notice the neuropathy until he was walking on his wrists. It took several months with the Zobaline and having his BG numbers in better levels before we noticed a change in his walking. We cut the Zobaline tablet into 4 pieces and wrap them in duck and pea pill pockets and he thinks it is a treat! :-D We hope the Zobaline helps Rosy. :YMHUG:

Re: 5/8 Zener PMPS 146;~1 239;~2 265

Re: 5/8 Zener PMPS 146;~1 239;~2 265

Wow what a day!! I'm sorry you got peed on, but great that you got a ketone test :-D I suppose there is an upside to everything  No kidding the kitties are mad at you for letting that nasty vet play around with their bottoms........i'd be mad at you too  I'm just kidding.
