Good Evening L&LL,

We got back from the vet just before dinner time. We had to wait an hour because the people in the next room were demanding the vet's time. Rusty was very good and just sat on the table and waited.

Last night, at bedtime, his stools had quite a bit of blood on them and we had to clean him up. But this morning's poop was blood free, and one that he had in the car on the way to the vet's was also blood free. The vet examined his surgery site carefully and said that it looks very good and very clean. She said not to worry about some blood on the stools (as long as it isn't IN the stools). The healing is still going on. We are to continue the Lactulose (which does seem to soften Rusty's--normally pretty hard--poop). He also got his B-12 shot. He didn't get the steroid shot because his sinuses/breathing are fine ("normal" for him).

He gobbled up his Happy Hour snack when we got home and then went to sleep in his basket. In a little while I'll go down to hold his dinner bowl.

Thanks for all the vines and prayers. Rusty is hanging in there. We feel more confident now about taking him to NYC with us this weekend.

Wishing all a fine evening.

Happy to hear the Vet went well and Rusty is doing better. Harley has been on Laxadose or similar here for over a year and it softens his poop just enough that he doesn't have issues...........even if Davidson gets into his food it doesn't affect him. it's part of the routine now and if it ain't broke, don't fix! We're sending vines your way.............

I'm glad to hear the vet thought all looked good, and that Rusty is eating and his breathing is normal. Paws crossed that the blood goes away and doesn't come back.

Sending vines, use them as you need them!
