teensy toe dabble into the yellow last night and that was it. have a feeling about today though. we'll see! At least he started pink, instead of black or red.. I'll take any small improvements where I can.

Rupert much brighter this morning, making the corners of the walls his again, hungry and a bit more active. Fed him a bigger breakfast, Evo/Friskies mixed, about 2 tablespoons. He's had another tablespoon at +1. Trying to anticipate something happening, trying to slow it down, trying NOT to send him even higher.. all guessing at this point. Also started new Vial today, the other one probably still fine but what the heck... only 4 days short of the 28 day supposed limit.

Hubby made it into his overnight stop last night at 9pm, Rojo travelled amazingly, unloaded beautfiully and walked into his 'hotel room' quietly. I'm guessing they are probably on the road right now, hoping to be home by 7ish tonight, maybe earlier if the border isn't too busy and they don't give him a hassle.

off to feed the rest of the clan.

well yay, something's happening. slower dip to yellow (at least slow for Rupert). He's enjoying this.... snacks every hour! I have to head to work but will be back by noon, but he's had a big breakfast, a tablespoon more at +1 and now another tablespoon at +2. Hoping that's enough to keep him slow and steady.

Hope everyone has a good day today. I bet Rupert is anticipating the new horse's arrival and knows he won't be the centre of attention for a while, so TODAY he chooses to do something. Typical!

Well, Rupert, that is a much better start this morning. I'm glad you're feeling perkier. Yay! That is quite a drop at +2, Pip. That would be a good opportunity for us to give Zener his zobaline in a pill pocket. We started out giving him a pill pocket at about +10 in the am cycle when he wanted a little snack and finally figured out that would pop up his BG. Duh. Even without sugar, the duck and pea flavor have carbs and he would react. Now we use them so slow him down early in the cycle.

Hope DH and Rojo have a safe trip today and cross the border quickly. Can't wait to see pictures of your new guy.

so, these pill pockets??? you are suggesting using just the pill pockets as treats to slow things down?? interesting.... what brand?? info please! I'll see if I can get some today at lunchtime when I head into Sidney to get horse food (animals have MORE money spent on their special diets than we ever do!).

Here is a link to the dog version: Greenies pill pocket. Apparently it's the same formula as the cat version, just 8x bigger and cheaper. Get the duck and pea formula as that does not have sugar in it. We heard they are discontinuing the cat version because of low sales but the dog ones will work too.

We also use these SeaFlex when he is really diving and getting low. They have honey and seem to last about 1.5 hours with Zener. Then there is always karo syrup when he's dangerously low. It's fast but doesn't last very long.

We can send you some to try if you can't find them.
