Monty was struggling to urinate this morning, only a few drops at a time and was revisiting his tray repeatedly.
After speaking to the vet they asked to see him urgently. I measured his BG at 75 before leaving for the vet. Vet found minor inflammation around penis. She discharged him on the basis that she doesn't believe there is a blockage and he was likely only urinating a few drops was due to pain. She felt his bladder was empty.
She suspects cystitis and asked me to bring a urine sample in when I can. He's been given an oral painkiller and a drug called cystophan to help with the cystitis.
He's urinated normally since the vet visit so likely he struggled due to pain. I've been advised it will likely clear up with 4-5 days but I'm to continue with painkillers (metacam) and cystophan for now.
