+3 (264) Wondering if the cycle is going to be flat. But, a flat yellow is a LOT better than a flat pink!

Goodnight all...won't be back until 5:45am shot...Sweet dreams...

I know the goal is blues, eventually greens, but I'm lovin' the string of yellows on the SS. :-D

PMPS (347) +12.25 - Shot .6u at 1:30pm
+3 (171) - leaving spoonful of food (which means he'll eat it right now ;-) )

Several have asked, so I thought I'd give you a DIY update (Joseph's room):
JackHammerSmilie.gif

Exterior wall redone and windows in.

Sheetrock up and painted on walls and ceiling. (Sander burned out from sheetrock dust. Bought new sander. New Spray Painter didn't work, another trip to replace. Lowes apparently misfigured on glaze. Another trip for one more quart.)

Carpet ordered. (Learned in Mar, they discontinued carpet in his current room which was the only request he had made. Doug went over to see what he could match it to. Owners are friends of ours and let Doug bring home some samples so I could 'approve.' Told should be in today or tomorrow. Joseph comes home tonight. :-D )

Picked up bedroom and closet doors, painted and hung. (Jessica said his door is cute and now she wants a cute door, too!)

Window framing painting. Doug is currently painting the closet, then will frame the windows.

Just got a call - CARPET CAME IN YESTERDAY. They have the padding cut and it's waiting for us! Clark (one of owner's) said to tell Joseph his welcome home present is getting to help install his carpet! So, we'll be heading out in a few to pick it up

Doug is waiting for Joseph to get home to show him exactly where he wants shelves in the closet. So, I guess that'll be tomorrow, along with the carpet, installing the light fixture and blinds.

(Projects sure looks easier on paper...)

THEN - comes the hard part - Joseph going through his stuff and moving it room to room!

Re: 5/8 Hershey MDPS(287) +3(238)

Yellow is GOOD! Kitty's cycles were normally very flat and yellow when we started.

Re: 5/8 Hershey MDPS(287) +3(238)

With Hershey you can almost bank on getting a flat cycle after a good cycle. At least todays flat cycle is a much nicer color. Go Hershey.

Wow, your DIY project is moving along fast. It takes me forever to get through some of my projects. It looks much easier on TV than it really is.

Not gonna lie, the pink was a little disappointing...not sure if it's because we were :15 late, wouldn't think so...but, don't know what went on during the cycle. Or, maybe Hershey thinks there's only two choices - flat or high...or a combination of the two... ;-)

Thanks, Kim and Robin. Hershey seems to like this TID and I'm getting the hang of the schedule, except for the last few days when we've been changing it up to get ready to get Joseph tonight. I had to write it all down and mark through it as I did it.

Yes, Robin, DIY is DEFINITELY easier on television! Do you ever watch the landscape show (name escapes me...) where the guy goes 'trolling' in Lowes looking for someone to help? I keep HOPING to stumble on him in our Lowes. I'd probably get arrested 'cause I'd tackle him to make sure nobody else got him first!

We ran out - stopped by Walmart, Costco, picked up the carpet and got home in less than 2-1/2 hours! Not bad, if I do say so myself...of course, it wasn't a full WM or Costco run ;-)

Guess I should get busy making sure I have things done to leave in a couple of hours to bring Joseph home! Excited, even though he'll only be home ~week - then off to camp! He's been a counselor at a non-denominational camp the last two summers and this year, he's the high ropes guy

Plan to do a +3 before heading out the door -

That's because Bob Vila or whoever comes brings in a WHOLE CREW who do the work and he just has to point & shoot in front of the camera! Ha! Then the homeowner ends up paying 3X the cost estimate from "Joe Contractor" because they have to have the work done to accomodate the shooting schedule! No thank you!!! Don't be fooled by the smoke & mirrors of the TV builders/contractors! And don't call me in a year to fix all the things that are already going wrong!!! I always tell people, "You can have it FAST, WELL-DONE, or INEXPENSIVELY. Pick one... maybe two. When working with old or historic homes, things get lost or tossed too easily if there's too much chaos on site. Not to mention the things that are irreversibly damaged! Slow & steady wins the race!!!

You're lucky Doug is able to do the renovations - that's awesome! Not to mention it saves a LOT of money and allows you to do so much more in the long run!

FYI - a friend of mine just bought a paint sprayer and had problems with it too. I can check & PM you how she finally got it going, if you haven't already gotten past that step. She had a friend stop by & show her how - now she thinks it's the coolest tool in the box! :-D

Hope he loves the room, and that you're all looking forward to a great summer w/ him home!

Re: 5/8 Hershey PMPS(347) & DIY Update

He replaced the spray painter and the sander...and, then today started talking about another big boy toy he wants for Father's Day. I quickly reminded him of the sprayer and the sander...but, between now and the next project he'll probably get this other saw he wants to. It's harder on him with Joe gone, so I sure want to get whatever tools I can to help him out.

Yeah, he's SUPER handy to have around! ;-) :-D

Re: 5/8 Hershey PMPS(347) & DIY Update

I love that landscape guy, I look for him allllll the time. Good thing we don't go to the same Lowe's because I would tackle him too.

I used to watch all those showes, the landscape guy, the DIY ones, the decorating ones. It finally occured to me that maybe if I ditched the cable and stopped watching the shows I'd have more time to actually go do the projects.

Geez Lu, I didn't know that was how it worked. I guess I'll keep picking away at my projects. But if I ever spot that landscape guy I'm dragging him home with me and let him have a shot at my yard (weeds, I don't kill them because then I would only have dirt).

Okay - so this isn't a "911" like dire emergency...but, we're literally getting ready to walk out the door and Hershey throws me a (171) at +3. We won't be back for at least 9 - 10 hours...is he going to be okay?? I have the automatic feeder set for 5 hrs from now...

THANKS!!!

You could leave a spoonful or two of low carb out but he should be fine.

Carl

Thanks, Carl - I guess this was his way of getting at me for the crack I made earlier about him either being high or flat (or both) ;-)

- leaving spoonful of food (which means he'll eat it right now ;-) )

I think I'd give him more than just a spoonful. We know how he likes to pull a fast one on you! Either that, or set the feeder for sooner.

Good luck with him!!!

Any room for him in the car???
