Hello all,

I noticed that Billie seemed bloated yesterday which I had read could be a side effect of the steroid, but now I'm worried about ascites. I talked to her cardiologist today who saw her x-rays from Friday, and she thought her heart and lungs looked good, but she thinks she might have fluid in her abdomen which the ER doctor did not mention. She said that could be causing the elevated respirations. She also said that her liver is large, larger than it was when she had an ultrasound in January. She did say that the ascites could be a sign of cancer. I'm very worried and might bring Billie to one of her doctors tomorrow. Although, I don't know what they can do. Her IM still can't be bothered to call me back, even though her guidance would be really helpful.

She is eating and drinking up a storm, and she was super purry when I got home. She groomed my entire arm, which she hadn't done in over a week. She also groomed herself a lot. She doesn't seem uncomfortable or lethargic at all. Her cardiologist said to look for signs of discomfort or inappetance. Billie also had a totally healthy BM. But, she is bloated, and I now think it's likely fluid in her abdomen. I don't know why the ER doctor wouldn't have caught it on the x-ray or didn't mention it.

I went back to the 2 mg with her steroid. I don't know why. Gut feeling? I hope she doesn't have more muscle weakness. I also hope the steroid is making things better, not worse. We will see how it goes.
