Yesterday's Condo

Another lovely start for Willie. Today marks his 5 month annifursary on the sugar dance. I can't believe what a different cat my boy is today... healthy, happy, active... 5 months ago I could never have imagined we would be in this place. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to all of our friends here. Without your friendship and guidance, I'm not sure where Willie would be today. I know if we had left his care strictly in the hands of the vets at our disposal, he would not have had this level of progress and for that I am deeply, deeply thankful.

Willie's getting some patio time this morning... he was at the back door demanding to be let out. Hoping I can find the little guy his own yard soon, as a neighbor kitty has found his catnip stash and virtually obliterated it! :shock: :shock: :shock: Going to get some new plants and keep them indoors, or maybe in a hanging basket for the patio that I can just put down when Willie is out there. Doing my best... I'm known amongst my friends and colleagues as the Black Thumb of Death when it comes to plants. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Busy weekend of cleaning ahead. Going to start purging things I don't need. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Christie, I don't envy you a weekend of cleaning, but I'd take one if I could give up bailing water!! Want to trade??

What progress Willie has made! :-D And a beautiful AMPS today. I hope the house hunting improves, we didn't get our first choice either, but this is actually a much better choice for us.

I've been told growing catnip from seed is better to keep other cats away from the patch, not sure why. Maybe the smell develops slowly and other cats aren't as attracted?

sorry for the cleaning and purging... ugh! been there too - it's a project in the works. :lol: amazing how much stuff one can collect. :roll:

Good luck with the catnip! I've tried to grow it a couple of times... it always ends up in the paws of those that pass through the yard, much to Mannie's dismay. Hanging basket might be good...

Wow...look at Willie this morning...Awesome. So glad you guys found us too.

I have a little patio at the apartment w/some plants. Curry likes to go out there for a spell and sniff the air.

Good luck on the cleaning. Its always a good feeling to be done and finished w/that chore....especially the purging.

Hmm. Somebody may be on a mission! We've had quite the morning... he managed to get around the elaborate blockade of the patio plants, so just now we had some pukus... almost afraid to feed right away because last time that resulted in mass pukus destruction like 5 minutes later. Going to keep a close eye on him for a bit this morning.

He also had a visitor from upstairs... we were curled up on the couch when we heard some kitty cries from the fire escape. We went to investigate, and sweet little Michelle, an all black kitten from the 3rd floor was quite incensed that she could smell catnip but a baby gate was blocking her egress. Willie came out and there were lots of nose bumps through the gate. Took the gate down, but Michelle got a bit fussy. Willie was under a little side table trying to get to the plants, and she cornered him and got a bit huffy. Poor Willie... feelings hurt, pride wounded, but some loving from the mamabean and Miss Michelle's bean seemed to smooth his ego. He's currently basking in a patch of sun, happy as can be!

LOL Right??? I did a lot of practicing... starting at .25u, then seeing where the plunger hit with each drop expelled. Basically, 4 drops = just more than a sliver of daylight under the zero line. 3 drops is a sliver of daylight. It never ceases to amaze me that such a tiny amount of insulin can make such a difference!

That is a cute little interaction with Michelle and Willie! Awesome cycle for Willie this morning. It's only been five months! You've learned very fast and are doing a great job with Willie. I believe I was a slow learner and had to be nagged a little (in a good way, I mean)! I, too, have stuff to do here and better get on the stick soon! Have a wonderful day.

seems like Willie thinks 5 months is almost as long as he needs to stay here (anti-jinx).

Sorry about the house, but I bet it will work out in the long run. When I bought my first house, I had a small budget and wasn't finding much. I had actually started considering putting an offer on a house that I had seen a month earlier and not liked very much, since it was better than everything else in my price range, when all of a sudden a house that was almost too good to be true appeared on the market. Bought that one instead and it was perfect for me (way better than the one I almost settled for) and I stayed there until I moved out of the area.

Thanks, Libby. I'm more zen today. LOL I think with the first one, you always get too attached... it's like, for the first time to say "yes, I'm ready to be a homeowner," you really have to get attached to a place and totally see it as your own.... makes the sting of things not working out a bit sharper. I'm sure if it happens again, I'll be more prepared (I hope!).

And then there were 3 drops...Willie is doing so great that I'm just gonna roll with it. If we stay on 3 drops forever, groovy. If he has other plans, even better! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Just fed him some Wellness Sardine, Shrimp and Crab. I'm not sure that I've ever seen him attack a food bowl quite like that! :shock: :shock: :shock: Testing again in a few!

My goodness! Either Willie is enthusiastic about housecleaning, or he wants a drop less than he's getting! :mrgreen: Glad you're home today with him. This is exciting!

Wow!!! What a great cycle and congrats on the dose reduction. I also agree that Willie has been doing phenomenal and I bet he doesn't hang around in LL for his six month annifursary!! Great job with him. How much longer on the cyclosporine? Shouldn't be too much.

So sorry about the house but Libby and Ann are right...the perfect one for you is still out there. I think it is a blast looking at houses!!

Thrilled with this cycle! I figured with the 86 and the first 97, he'd head into bounce mode, but he is holding his own in the latter parts of this cycle. I'm pleased as punch!!

We had another visit from Miss Michelle. I had the back door propped open so Willie could go in and out as he pleased today. Miss Michelle decided to come on in and make herself at home. I got a hiss as I scuttled her out the back door. Got Willie to come out for a bit... nice face to face nose bumps, but then Willie remembered last time and slunk away, sitting in the door way guarding his castle. He is a BIG boy and she is just the tiniest little thing, so I couldn't help but laugh, which I'm pretty sure wounded his pride a little more. We've spent a lazy saturday lounging, including an hour long cuddle nap on the sofa.

Should actually get around to some cooking and cleaning, and a quick trip or two to the store!!

Hmmm...I think Michelle is a little smitten with Willie! Maybe a little relationship will start developing. What an awesome cycle today for Willie.

Well, bounce schmounce!! apparently, Willie is running the LTS refresher this evening over a game of croquet and asian kittytails (tuna juice and fish sauce, with a bonito garnish). :lol: :lol: :lol:
