I just got off the phone with the clinic. Tori had a good night and is letting them know her displeasure at having an IV in her leg and being in a cage. She is telling everybody all about it. That's my girl! Doug once told me that he has never had a cat give such a "malignant look" like Tori can. He loves her feistiness and the fact that she is all sound effects and evil looks but never tries to hurt anybody.

Anyway she ate a little during the night , no vomiting. He wants to keep her for sure until later in the day so he can make sure she eats and that her potassium level is OK. Barring any problems she likely will be able to come home late this afternoon. I'm so excited! I hate not having her at home. You all know what I mean.

So I'm off to bed. I worked all night. Hopefully I'm going to be able to make up for the the the lack of sleep of the the last few days.

I'll let you know as soon as I get home hopefully with my baby in tow.

I hope your baby's home now, and that you don't have to rush off to work just after bringing her home. Gotta love those feisty calicos.

We're Home!

I'm happy to report that my wonderful feisty little Tori is home and she looks so much better I can't believe it. First thing she did when she got home was go up to each of her brothers and give them a gentle swat just to let them know that she's home and that she's still the boss. The boys didn't seem to mind at all. They both seemed kind of lost while she was gone and they both are just so glad to have her back. That's my girl!

After she had asserted he domination she then proceeded to the food bowl and" patiently" waited for a snack. She had been given some Mirt yesterday and it really has helped. That with the IV and she's on the mend. Her BG tonight is 16 which is pretty good. They fed her DM at the clinic which of course is higher in carbs than the raw diet that i feed her. I gave her 1.25 tonight. She had been on 1 Fat the last few days prior to her flare. Unfortunately I have to work tonight but Daniel is home and he is so good with her that I don't need to worry.

Thanks so much for all your prayers and healing vines that have been sent our way the last 2 days. The power of the love of this board is unsurpassed. By the way I almost forgot. When I was there an elderly lady was there with her kitty who had been diagnosed a couple of weeks ago. Poor little thing looked so scared. She asked me about Tori and I reassured her that her problem wasn't her diabetes. When I told her Tori had been a diabetic for almost five years now she said " Does that mean my kitty might not die right away?' I tried to reassure her and gave her my phone number if she wants to talk. I hope she'll call. I also hope that Doug is treating her kitty. Have I mentioned how much I love our vet?
