okay...
it's ain't the fancy feast appetizer. No food this morning... should have had a lower bg without food on board. (8 hour fast)
so yuck.

ran off to vet and got blood drawn.
I had the owner this time... and we chatted a bit.
He was pointing out her large chin ... and calling her an acro cat.
I don't think he knew the test we have around here for testing for acromegaly. But she isn't a high dose insulin cat for that part of it. Maybe she will
be some day.

He thought it just could be her specific metabolism, or high stress and gave other reasons for her slowly having higher numbers.
The concept of microdosing was foreign to him of course.
I decided not to have the debate as I already have a pen of insulin waiting in the fridge.

Anyway, she's home... happy to be here and eating her breakfast. I'm about to shower.
They called and wanted me to come for surgery now... they had a cancelation but I had to postpone an hour so I could still get Shadow's bw done.

So.... at about 10:30 mountain standard time,
You should all grab your nose and say " Oh my nose!" like Marsha Brady. :lol: ;-)

I'm sure I will when I wake up.

BTW....long layover in ABQ on outbound to TX but I know you won't be up to that. On my way back, I don't even get off the plane....it's a DAL--ABQ---LAS---TUS trip. Maybe next time, I hope!!

Rhiannon, I hope everything went well with your surgery and you recover quickly. Hopefully you'll get Shadow's test results back quickly and they'll be good.

I'm home.
sitting in the recliner... don't have "good enough" pain meds to pass out and sleep.

surgery went well. I can tell I have holes now... there is air even tho there are splints in my nose... they seem to be hollow ...
I have to squirt saline on them every 15 minutes while I'm awake which is tedious and annoying.
I'm not really in pain... it is very much like a dull migraine. Just supposed to do nothing....

so i'll be dabbling off and on here....
i need entertainment.... :lol:

dd wants to watch Les Miserables so we'll do that too.
Maybe that will get me to fall asleep.
I've seen it, know it well and she's not going to let us send the disc back to netflix until we watch it at least 3-4 times.... :roll:
she loves the song "do you hear the people sing"....

I'm glad your surgery went well, and oh boy on the brady bunch!!! I love dd's song too - very rousing! I hope you get good news for Shadow.

Saline spray every 15 minutes! Wow! At least you won't have a dried-up nose!

It sounds like the surgery went well ~ I hope you have an easy, speedy, pain-free recovery.

I also hope Shadow is recovering from her doc visit today.

I must of missed your post on surgery, deviated septum or broke nose? I have a plastic bridge in my nose broke it to many times. lol glad to hear it all went well, no kitty nose bumps for awhile.=^:^= feel better , Linda and Lucky
 
Glad things went well! Wish you a quick recovery and smooth breathing soon :-D

If she above normal numbers and doesn't bring herself down after eating, you might want to restart at 0.1u bid. I've also asked for other thoughts, too.
