Rusty held the fort today while Edward and I were out on the first official paddle of the season. We had a gorgeous day for the paddle and we all had a great time (there were 9 of us). We saw loons, Canada geese, black ducks, a huge snapping turtle, a muskrat, and beaver. The area we paddled in is remote and you don't hear any sounds except the birdsong. It was wonderful.
When we got home around +9 Rusty was asleep in his cube. He ate most of the food left for him (both compartments in his automat and some treats on the side). Now I'm going down to hold his dinner bowl. Tomorrow afternoon (late afternoon) is his vetty follow-up visit post surgery. It will be with the other vet in the practice and I'm interested in what she has to say (Rusty's usual vet is off tomorrow).
