Yesterday and the low blues.

5/6 Recap:
AMPS 109 +7 116 +9 103
PMPS 137 +9 104

Neko was in fine fettle this morning. She "helped" DH put the recycling out for pickup, until she remembered that it was breffs time. Seems to be the morning tradition she has developed to go out for a minute or two when we get back from rowing. At least now that the weather has improved.

We have the 5 P's, including the whack puffs of fur as evidence. I love the look that Neko gives Theo as they line up for test time. I just dare you to whack me. :p Of course I encourage her to whack him instead. We've got a stretch of sunny days, and cats are now baking in the solarium, under the shade of the chairs.

OT: A fine row this morning - coach is getting us to practice racing when we are tired. Ugh! First of the water skiers and their wakes are now out in the morning. They've got the whole inlet to go and they just have to come over and have a look at us. But we did have a great blue heron fly about twenty feet above us.

Love your stories about the adventures of Neko :D

You must be one tough lady, racing when tired. I might be able to row a canoe, but only when there's a guy rowing with me so I can take breaks

You feel about water skiers the same as I feel about mountain bikes on hiking only trails and fat bikes on x-country ski trails. Why do they insist on coming where they're not wanted, esp. when there's plenty of room for them to do their thing elsewhere??? Cool to see the great blue heron, though. Nature has so many gifts!!

Nice start for Neko. It sounds like she's feeling good. Sorry about the water skiers, but very cool on the great blue heron.

Neko is looking really good - all those healing numbers (I'm ignoring that 137 yesterday - I'm sure I'm misreading it :p)!! Keep up the good work, Neko! All 5 P's and feeling good - gosh, does it get any better???

I hope you have a chance to relax and recover from this morning's exertion. Are you over any start of the season sore muscles yet? Or do you keep in shape during the off season so you don't have that problem? As an exercise-phobe, I really admire you!

i think I could handle riding a tandem bike with my dh as long as my pedals won't turn.
The cyclist at the rear of the tandem is called the "stoker", for a good reason: she supplies the power!!

Hi Wendy, I hate water skiers, too, but not as much as I hate jet skis!!

It sounds like Neko and Theo are really enjoying spring!

Have a great evening. Are you tired yet?

Ella & Rusty

hijacking....: well... that sure doesn't apply to me..... no stoker here.... my dh rides about 3o miles daily....he's the cyclist.
I can't ride a bike anymore... vertigo.... fall down... so he's always offered to do the pedaling and let me just sit there as something to do together.

hijack over....

I was playing guessing games with Neko's BG's today. At +9.5 I guessed around 150 and at PMPS about 30 points down. Just wish she was always so easy to guess.

@ Amy, Carla, Lori, Tricia, Rhiannon, Ella - Neko and Theo are definitely enjoying this spring. It's been a great May so far. Typically May is better than June here. I didn't exactly recover today - more pressure washing! We practice racing when tired because otherwise we poop out at the end of a race. Our races are around 4 minutes long and the only thing that keeps our speed up at the end is a "sprint". It's way too common to lose energy in the last 30-60 seconds. But the nice thing about racing in a quad (4 people in the boat) is it's harder to tell if you take a small break. ;) @Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) - Not too many jet skis at 5:30 AM, they are there later in the day, but more common and worse are the wake boarders. @Tricia & Cinco - I'm over the early season sore muscles and am now onto the mid season sore muscles. :p
