Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (ah..... so needed!), and Happy Tuesday!
There is hope for our budding barista, Elsa! The 10 hour energy was primo this morning :-D and she seems to have gotten the recipe down pat, without too much zipppppppp! All of LL can now get their day started! YAY! Now if she could just be a little neater about it. There was this sea of espresso beans all over the counter this morning ;-) I have high hopes for the mochas too.... thought I suspect we will not loose that dollop of ice cream she is so insistent upon adding to the mix. silly girl..... his morning there was this distinct aromas of peppermint! fresh crushed peppermint! and I kept hearing mumblings about "not enough mint ice cream and how in the world did he do this foam thing!" I dunno! That's why he was known a MochaMannie.

Thanks all the visited yesterday: Mary, Melissa, Josie, Hillary, Angela, Ann, Amy, Ella, Carla, Rhiannon and Marje. I am sorry that I couldn't answer each of you individually. My hike ran long, I wasn't home til 6:30 PM and then my son stopped by. Busy day! I am glad all enjoyed reading the origins of the KTSS. I agree too: so hope it continues. It is a good thing, for the kitties, and especially for us beans.
Rhiannon:    That was good! I loved it.
Oliver: I DID! and it was so fun! I thought about all you kitties while I was up there.... :-D You guys so totally rock!
and from Elsa: hey - this barista thing is kinda cool, but I just am not as good as MochaMannie - how did he do this stuff! I gots you guys covered though! ~~ Elsa, barista in training....

Yesterday's hike was fantastic! I went over to Eastern Washington to a place called Black Canyon, near Selah/Yakima. The day was too sunny not to go. Thought I have to admit it was "hot" over there in Selah, an even hotter on that canyon - like 90+. Phew! thank goodness that that canyon, like most there, had a good breeze blowing through: it helped cool tings down a bit. There is no shade on these hikes, so that breeze was welcome! I came back a little sunburned, despite the use of sunscreen. Oh well, a mini tan in the making. It was a good time for me: 13.5 miles, 1900 foot climb, and a 2 miles long ridge to explore. The views up there are really great: one can see most of the mountain ranges, unencumbered views! I ate my lunch top side, and thought alot about Mannie, Mannie Week, and all that was. It was full of happy memories. I still miss him more than I can say, but the memories are very good ones. It's nice to think I can visit him anytime I want. He always resides within my heart. I thought alot about Mannie week, and how cool that was. Thank you all for that week - what a heart warming thing it was. :-D :-D :-D :-D I came home hot and tired and so in need of a shower, but what a ride yesterday was. Amazing what a day out with mother nature will do for ones well being. I took a TON of photos, so here you go (sorry, but there are alot of snoqualmie pass, so you'll have to weed through those to get to the canyon....): Picassa link: Black Canyon, Snoqualmie Pass

Have a great day everyone! I am off later today to Seattle to visit friends over a cup or two of ~O) WOO HOO! A social outing.

And kitties.... remember! Think BLUE, think GREEN!

Awsome photos, Michelle: Those majestic peaks in the distance, the magical wildflowers and tree groves in what looks like very dry, almost desert-like landscape. I'll bet you got a lot of sun and it's a good thing you remembered to bring your sunscreen!! You did your share of miles, too!! It's neat that you could be out there, thinking happy thoughts of Mannie in those beautiful surroundings.

Have a good day in Seattle today.

Hugs from us,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Please tell Barista-in-training Elsa that the 10-hour energy espresso was very good today.

What beautiful photos. You are a lucky girl, getting to see that every day instead of the inside of a cubicle. I know you did more than your time in cube land, but I can live vicariously through you for now right? How sweet with Elsa. She is trying so hard and doing a great job! What a good girl. :-D

Enjoy your time in the city and have a great day Michelle!!

Hi Michelle, wow, what a great hike yesterday and impressive with the 13+ miles and beautiful scenery. I'm like Melissa, living the hikes vicariously through you. I touched on the pics but first want to have a cup of Elsa's 10 Hour Energy coffee and go slowly. They are beautiful pics as always.
Oh so funny on Elsa. I think we will end up with ice cream along with our coffee which is great. Have a great time with your friends in Seattle. Hugs and scritches to Elsa.

Hi Michelle, sounds like you had a wonderful day out hiking .. though 90+ degree temps don't sound wonderful to me at all  It is so sweet of Elsa to try and carry on mannies tradition .. I know so many here in LL enjoyed those sweet drinks of his ..

Morning Michelle!!!!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O)

Those are some gorgeous photos. You must have had such a nice hike. And no little tiny hike...LLOOOOONNNNGGGG hike. I love seeing the spring flowers. Mine are just poking their little heads through the ground so it's nice to see yours all blooming. Have great fun in Seattle today.

Thanks for sharing your feeding schedule. I'll keep at it and hope it will kick in.
many hugs and scritches to you all from us all.
mary and ollie

What a wonderful day! Yes, Mothe Nature does have a way of settling our souls. Enjoy Seattle and your friends, like I need to say that!

Morning Everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O) It is still morning isn't it? ;-)

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the photos. I like this palce, as it had all that you say, all within the hot of eastern Washington, amidst the desert. Very cool place. The views topside are really something! I enjoyed being able to spend time this year on the ridge, never could before as this hike takes the day, and I always had to be back for Mannie, just couldn't do it. This year I could, so this one was for him, and all those wonderful memories. It was a he adn me time, never forgotten Mannie. Yupp! 13 miles! PHEW!!! THX too on Seattle, it will be fun. And I will tell Elsa :-D

Hi Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the photos. I am glad, and very ahppy, that people can see these places, visit them through my photos. It is one of the reasons I take so many - it coves all that as there, or so I hope. oh yes.... I have done my fair share too of cubicle habitating! for YEARS!  I am so glad that I am still physically able to do there hikes,a d see what is out there. I know on Elsa she has a good heart and really i trying to fill her baby brothers shoes... :-D

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the hike, and the mileage. I felt those 13 miles this morning.  And I am really glad that yu guys can look at these photos and see these places. Mega cool for me. LOL, and yes on Elsa... she so wants this to be her way, something unique to Miss Elsa. silly girl. She is so happy that she has finally nailed the 10 hour energy.  I will pass on those scritches. THX too on Seattle - always good to share a cup with friends.

HI Devon ~O) ~O) ~O) I did! great hike. That part of out state is so different than home. It's just nice to experience something were don't see all the time. and yeah - that 90 was a bit much... I hope so on Elsa, she misses her brother, this way she can remember him too.

Morning Mary ~O) ~O) ~O) Me too on the fresh mint - the house smelled so good in the wee hours of the morning! :-D Cool on Ollie, Elsa is so happy to have the help! Thanks too on the photos - the wildflowers there were so pretty, and so many! Cool on the feeding schedule - hope it helps.!
Ollie - hurry!!! i so suck at this cleaning thing!! Can I come too to Rusty's???? REALLY???? YaHOO! I am excited!~~ Elsa, BIT

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yes, mother nature sure did that for me yesterday. It was a very nice time. hey - THX on town, it will be great. Fun awaits!! :-D

Great hike! 13 miles is not too shabby. :-D :-D Mannie Week was very sweet - I love the pictures with the plaques. No one can forget the Mannster. I'm glad you're doing ok. We miss Mannie so I know it's hard for you. Elsa is doing great, picking up the java slack. Maybe Mannie gave her a few lessons?
Liz

Hi Liz! :-D Hey THX! IOT was a good one, I try and do this one each year. I really like the views topside, very rewarding. I was the only one there too, so lots of me time to just enjoy. Yupp, I thought so too on Mannie Week. I didn't knwo they were doing that until I visited Ella's condo. LOVED the photos, saved them all. We are doing OK - just miss him alot. Caring for an FD kitty creates such a bond that it is really hard when it is no longer there. Memories are all good, so things are indeed well. LOL on Elsa. I wonder on Mannie - if he didn't back then he sure is now. What fun it all can be.

Hi Michelle. Thanks for sharing all of the pictures. It's a great way for me to see places I probably won't ever get to actually go and see myself.

I'm glad you got to have the time to remember Mannie. I know it is hard for you. It's good you can smile at the memories.

After years of cubicle dwelling, you have certainly "earned" all of your beautiful hiking. I'm always amazed at the gorgeous scenery that is around you...really very stunning.

Elsa is doing a fabulous job. I'm sure she'll get a little tidier in the kitchen as she really gets into the swing of things ;-) !

HI Carla - I'm so glad you like the photos. it's fun for me to take them , ave people look at places theyv'e never been, and porbably won't get to. I love photos - I do that with others and/or photographers so I too can see places I more than likely will never get to. Kinda fun! THX on Mannie. It was a nice time to just sit and think about him. It was good, not sad, just happy memories.

HI Amy - hey thanks! I think so too! i certainly have done my fair share of cubicle dwelling!  THx on all here too. I've always thought we were really very lukcy: such diversity here in scenery, and all within driving distance, or just a few hours. I can hardly wait for the north cascades to open - breathtaking up there! LOL on Elsa - she seems to be taking to it. Today she was singing while she worked, Sure was nice of Ollie to come and show her how to tidy up.

Elsa Dear - if I may suggest - please don't try to follow in Mannie's paw steps and become the next mocha barista. I say this, because I don't think you really like coffees and if you don't like it, you just won't make them right. You need to make what you love and it will come easily and you will have lots of fun. I hear that you love ice cream so why not become the ice cream barista and you can open your own ice cream parlour and call it Elsa's Frozen Delights......

Think about all the wonderful ice cream flavors you can create and the yummy concoctions you can come up with for every holiday, season and ice cream is a fun and happy treat.

What do you think Elsa - might you enjoy that better? Think of all the customers you will have not just beans, but kittehs too - you can come up with sugar and dairy free variations so kittehs can enjoy in between their meals.

And you can create a special mocha ice cream in honor of the mocha barista himself.

Hey Elsa,

I gots lots of monies I can invest in your new bizness and you can borrow my wagon with the lovely umbrella for your deliveries - ooooh and I have a lovely uniform err outfit just for you that you can wear and a pretty silver tray that you can serve the fountain treats on!

ooooh what do you think? shall we open up this new bizness.....and we can also open a daquiri shack on the beach too! Think of all the monies we will make! Beach daquiris and ice cream treats!

signed Maui the Magnificent, loves mousecream of all kinds!

HI Hillary :-D   Good point! and Miss Elsa agrees - she does love the ice cream!
Auntie Hillary - hmmmm... you have a very good point! I will have to seriously consider this. I LIKE this! Elsa's Frozen Delights...... mega possibilities! It would be so cool to think of sugar free varieties for all kitties. This is so cool! thanks you! ~~ Elsa

Hey Maui! Cool! Heeheehee on the daiquiri shack. :-D OK, I thinks on this some..... after my bowl of ice cream! ~~ Elsa, me too on the mousecream!
