Good Morning LL!!
(ah..... so needed!), and Happy Tuesday!
There is hope for our budding barista, Elsa! The 10 hour energy was primo this morning
and she seems to have gotten the recipe down pat, without too much zipppppppp! All of LL can now get their day started! YAY! Now if she could just be a little neater about it. There was this sea of espresso beans all over the counter this morning ;-) I have high hopes for the mochas too.... thought I suspect we will not loose that dollop of ice cream she is so insistent upon adding to the mix. silly girl..... his morning there was this distinct aromas of peppermint! fresh crushed peppermint! and I kept hearing mumblings about "not enough mint ice cream and how in the world did he do this foam thing!" I dunno! That's why he was known a MochaMannie.
Thanks all the visited yesterday: Mary, Melissa, Josie, Hillary, Angela, Ann, Amy, Ella, Carla, Rhiannon and Marje. I am sorry that I couldn't answer each of you individually. My hike ran long, I wasn't home til 6:30 PM and then my son stopped by. Busy day! I am glad all enjoyed reading the origins of the KTSS. I agree too: so hope it continues. It is a good thing, for the kitties, and especially for us beans.
Rhiannon:    That was good! I loved it.
Oliver: I DID! and it was so fun! I thought about all you kitties while I was up there....
You guys so totally rock!
and from Elsa: hey - this barista thing is kinda cool, but I just am not as good as MochaMannie - how did he do this stuff! I gots you guys covered though! ~~ Elsa, barista in training....
Yesterday's hike was fantastic! I went over to Eastern Washington to a place called Black Canyon, near Selah/Yakima. The day was too sunny not to go. Thought I have to admit it was "hot" over there in Selah, an even hotter on that canyon - like 90+. Phew! thank goodness that that canyon, like most there, had a good breeze blowing through: it helped cool tings down a bit.
There is no shade on these hikes, so that breeze was welcome! I came back a little sunburned, despite the use of sunscreen. Oh well, a mini tan in the making. It was a good time for me: 13.5 miles, 1900 foot climb, and a 2 miles long ridge to explore. The views up there are really great: one can see most of the mountain ranges, unencumbered views! I ate my lunch top side, and thought alot about Mannie, Mannie Week, and all that was. It was full of happy memories. I still miss him more than I can say, but the memories are very good ones. It's nice to think I can visit him anytime I want. He always resides within my heart. I thought alot about Mannie week, and how cool that was. Thank you all for that week - what a heart warming thing it was.
I came home hot and tired and so in need of a shower, but what a ride yesterday was. Amazing what a day out with mother nature will do for ones well being. I took a TON of photos, so here you go (sorry, but there are alot of snoqualmie pass, so you'll have to weed through those to get to the canyon....): Picassa link: Black Canyon, Snoqualmie Pass
Have a great day everyone! I am off later today to Seattle to visit friends over a cup or two of
WOO HOO! A social outing.
And kitties.... remember! Think BLUE, think GREEN!
