Yesterday's condo

Well she made it back to the lagoon today! Don't blame her...it's hot in this house! I was out most of the afternoon but China (et al) was stuck here inside the stuffy house...I'm sure it felt good to go for a swim!...LOL

Probably called 20 places today to try to find someone to come look at the A/C and all of them except 1 couldn't make it until tomorrow afternoon at the soonest. Finally had one say they could come today, but it was late afternoon before he got here.

I wish I knew something about a/c units since I wouldn't know if I was being flim-flammed or not when he says it needs freon..and the kind I need is R-22 which he charged $45/lb for....and it needed 5 lbs

Total cost $325 for less than 15 minutes "work"....had no choice but to ask DM for the money, so any chance of getting a loan from her for a dental on one of my civvies just went out the window

Oh well.....not like it's something I can live without (well, live without, yes..want to live without during a Missouri summer in the upper 90's and lots of humidity, NO) but if it needs freon after 2020, I'll have to buy a whole new A/C unit

Glad to see China surfed safely while you were out!

My DH is a jack-of-all trades and maintenance supervisor for our college. I mentioned your A/C problem to him, and he said that freon runs around $29 a pound here (North Central Arkansas). He didn't think needing 5 lbs. was abnormal, either. I don't know if that makes you feel any better or not; it's still outrageously expensive. :YMSIGH: Hopefully they got the leak fixed so that you have super-cold A/C now.

China, just because it's cold in the house doesn't mean you can stop visiting the lagoon, ya hear?!
