Good morning All!! ~O) ~O) ~O)
Oliver had his first yellow in a long time yesterday. He spent several hours with me in the cab of the semi cleaning up.. Well, the darn semi is BRIGHT YELLOW!! OOOPS! No more matching the semi for you little man!!
Oliver has all his little Ps in place this morning. We had a good walk this after his shot. He's got favorite spots for walking. First stop is next to some iris to eat grass, then under the blue spruce to watch for birds and then off to the end of the driveway between the shop and the barn for LB action. He's so cute, he'll dig his little hole and then look at me. He's so afraid of being interrupted during his "job" ;-) I tell him "it's ok, i'll watch for you. No one will come close" Then he's ok to do his bidness. Then we continue on around the barn, through the bushes to the back to check for deer and then back home for a little snack and bring grass to the "little boys". Greg and Marble won't use a harness so they don't get to go "all the way out".

Prayers for all of our kitties and beans. Blue skies to us all.
xoxo mary and oliver

Re: 5/6 OliverTwist amps 135

Morning Mary, I love hearing about your and Ollie's walk and the stops along the way. So cute the way he looks around before doing his business making sure no one's watching. Mags does that indoor in her lb.
These little ones need their privacy. Have a great day and very nice AMPS for Ollie.

HI Mary....how nice that Ollie walks for you. Two of mine go out on harness, but both just want to stand and eat greenery.

That's a nice string of numbers for Oliver today too.

Now please go buy a big green rig.

Hi Mary!
How nice Oliver walks for you! I basically chase my brat all over the place--time for a harness :-D
Maybe you should paint the semi green
Have a lovely evening

Hi Mary. Very nice slide to the green zone by Oliver today. I agree with the others....you need a green rig! It sounds like he really enjoyed his walk this morning. Seems like he made a nice transition to the Wisconsin weather.

Have a great evening Mary.

Hi Mary and Oliver,
I love your walking routine. All those favorite spots visited every day. And the outdoor litterbox! (Stu used to enjoy making outdoor litterboxes; Rusty meows to go inside if he wants to use his litterbox when we are outside!! )

Nice numbers so far today. Surf safe, Ollie!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 5/6 OliverTwist pmps 214 +2 108 +3 74 new vet vaccines

Thank you all for stopping by today. I love it and Ollie really listens when i read his condo to him.
We visited his new vet today. She said that she supports home testing. YAY! Then she asked if we tested him once or twice a week.. Poor dear, i'd sent her his spreadsheet but when they printed it out everything was the size of bacteria. I know what it says and i couldn't read it. When we told her how many times we tested her eyes got kind of big. We agreed to let her deal with any health issues and let FDMB take care of Oliver's diabetes.

She was really very nice with him. Even when he was trying to be a mean kitty, she spoke softly to him and eventually he let her pet his neck while she listened to his heart and lungs, checked his teeth, eyes and ears. I really thought he was going to nail her, but he didn't. thank heavens. I like her very much and she doesn't object to the fact that i'm thinking i won't vaccinate him anymore.

We chatted for a long time about vaccinations. She did say that the number of cats with injection site tumors and amputations has gone way down. we chatted about why she thinks that is. I think it's partly because so many people are foregoing vaccinations. She says it's because they've changed and lowered the amount of the solution that carries the vaccine. She thinks it's the solution that caused the tumors and amputations. She mentioned a one year vaccine that doesn't have the problems with tumors that the 3 year vaccine has. I'll do more research. Ollie got the one year vaccine last year, but im really thinking to be done with vaccinations. I asked her about the research that says once cats get a vaccine or two, they are immune for life. She said that could very well be true but no companies have done long term studies to prove it. I'm really leaning toward no more vaccinations. I'm wondering what you think about vaccinations.?

I don't know who gave me this cold, but i wish they would come and take it back. DH is going to take over tonight and i'm going to bed.
xoxoxo NiNi all.

What's up with that yellow start Ollie! At least you found the lagoon soon enough.

Sounds like your vet is definitely a keeper. Good Oliver for behaving. Vets used to routinely vaccinate every year, then 3 year vaccines came out. That might also have reduced the number of problems. What you are looking for is the Purevax vaccines, which are non-adjuvanted. Dr. Lisa has a good description of the vaccines on her website. My vet is OK with me no longer vaccinating since Neko doesn't really go out much. I'm still considering the Purevax rabies vaccine (rabies vaccines are required in some states but not in Canada) but my vet doesn't stock it so I'd have to go to a different vet for that.

Take care of your self Mary, sending along some healing vines for you.

as I recall, I did all the vaccines when Shadow was a kitten (after all she came from the santa fe animal shelter) but told them I wanted to be minimalistic
since she was an indoor cat and wouldn't be exposed to much.
all dogs were vaccinated.
seems like I did have to do a rabies booster once in the middle of her life for their protection... NM law in case she bites one of them....

but they don't even ask anymore.

I'll be watching for what you learn...

Surf the green, Oliver!

I find that statement quite interesting - what companies is she referring to - the drug companies? well isn't it counter-intuitive for a drug company to do this research as it is in their best interest to sell vaccines? why then would they want to research that vaccinations are no longer needed?

just saying....
