Good luck with the pill pockets. I hope she likes them. Even if she doesn't, it does make the pill go down easier if you have to put it in her mouth on your own. I hope she slides down today.
 
Thanks, Carla. I just picked up some of the duck ones for dogs @Wendy&Neko recommended. I used @julie & punkin (ga) method of holding her on my lap, wasn't able to just pop it in, took a few tries but finally she swallowed. I think she doesn't trust me after yesterday's pilling fiasco, but she'll come around. These duck treats smell like they would be a lot tastier than those bitter pills.
How's your little sweetie doing? I see lots of blue yesterday on her SS.
 
I do like Julie does, and occasionally feed bits of the pill pockets as treats to all the cats, with nothing in them. Much easier to sneak a pill in occasionally that way. Neko's morning benazapril is wrapped in a pill pocket and put on top of her breakfast.

Quite the night in Alberta - I think the change will be interesting but good for the province to shake things up.
 
Lulu is no longer interested in the Wild Boar treats she loved so much; also, I haven`t seen her eating, although I suspect she must be, as her BG has gone down a bit. I wonder what`s up with that...is she tired of being poked and hurt all the time? Has she associated treats with a negative (pain) rather than a positive after the poke? Or am I just a crazy cat lady? We all have our down days, maybe she's having hers.

I agree with you, Wendy, it was time for things to be shaken up here in AB. No doubt, interesting times ahead, but the provincial government had become pretty smug and arrogant, this has taught them (and hopefully other politicians) a lesson.
 
hopefully the pill pockets will make things a little easier for you and her both! I won't even try to figure out what she's thinking about her treats/pokeys! ;)
 
Tonight`s pilling was a disaster, even with the pill pockets; she really resisted and I think I may have been a little rough forcing the covered pill into her mouth several times. But I remember back on how difficult ear pokes were in the beginning, so I`m certain this will get better. I feel bad because I have always been so gentle with my kitties.:(
 
I'm sorry the pilling was so difficult. When I have to give Baby a pill, I have to shove it down her throat because she won't eat the pill pockets. She tries to run away when we're done, but I won't let her. I grab her and start loving on her and telling her she's a good girl. It helps make it less stressful for her.
 
Thanks for that, Carla. I`m finding it difficult, so went out this a.m. and bought a different flavour of pill pocket, but she won`t have it. So I just shoved another pill down her throat, took a couple of tries, she wanted to run away, too. I wouldn`t let her, juststroked her throat, told her I was sorry, she`s a good girl, etc. It`s for her health, so I try to remember that.
 
I'm sorry you're finding it difficult to give Lulu her pills - it is for her own good but of course it's difficult when you have to be tough with her to make her take it. :bighug: Both of my 2 are little horrors to give pills to - they have to be burrito wrapped and even then it takes 2 people to get the pill into them without risking serious injury (to us, not the cats ;) ). I'm sure things will improve as the antibiotics start to work and she starts feeling better. :bighug:
