5/6 Faraday AMPS 344, 252 +2, 256 +11, PMPS 348, 291 +2, 162 +4, 159 +6

I got an email follow up from my vet, since today will be a week since we started treatment. I had sent her the link for the SS, but she claims she doesn't understand it. I suppose if you don't know what AMPS and PMPS stand for, it might be confusing? But I just am shaking my head over here.

She asked me to either send her the PS and +4 values, or to do a 12 hour curve and send her the data. I sent her the TR publication with it's dose increase/decrease guidelines and told her based on that we were upping our dose.
 
Another response from the vet:

"I really don't understand the cycles here but I am sure you are doing a great job given your background and thoroughness. I really just need a snapshot of his values as I stated above and can advise based on that. If we run into problems with his curve I might request different readings etc but I don't anticipate him to be complicated. I do not recommend adjusting the insulin doses before 1 full week of therapy, or based on single readings since we are using a long acting insulin, but if you feel comfortable doing that after your research than I support you!"

Since Faraday has now officially had a full week of therapy *and* I'm not basing my dose increase off of "single readings" (HA!), I feel like the 1.25IU tonight is warranted?
 
My vet didn't get the spreadsheet either and asked me to fill in a form she was used to seeing. I did that manually a couple times, then gave up. It was too much work for me, and gave me no value.

The last quote looks like the vet is on board with the increase. I think you can increase tonight. Just be prepared for some possible action.

One favour to ask, could you put TR in your signature?

Increase it is then. I just want to do whatever is best for Faraday!

And I did add TR to my signature - sorry I neglected that! I put my signature together before I had a treatment plan.
 
1.25U on board. I love the 0.5U increment syringes!

Sneaky man got into some leftover gravy that my spouse left on the sink not long before PMPS. I think that’s what made his BG jump about 100 in an hour. Or not. Who knows?
