Yesterday's Condo

Yea, still bouncing a tad but at least the overall trend of both AMPS and PMPS are coming down. So I have that going for me...which is nice  (Hats off to any movie fans out there who recognize that line) Abby is back to her normal self though: meets me in the bathroom as soon as I get up in the morning, follows me downstairs for breakfast, tolerates her shot as long as she's distracted eating, jumps on the coffee table for her morning brushing, then camps out on the back of the couch til I'm ready to leave for work. Purring all along. A happy morning in Abby-land.

Yes, nanners are on order - this should be entertaining!! Wishing everyone a happy Friday!

Re: 5/6 Abby AMPS 269

Hello Kristan and Abby! I have never stopped by before, but am finally trying to make the rounds. Abby is a beautiful kitty. I hope you have a great day!

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124

Nicely done Abby! Look at the pmps, and that +2 - I think your bean will be very very busy tonight... working on the dosecrease are we Abby?

What a wonderful description of Abby's morning!  :-D

Hey Abby - did your nanners get there yet? Be cool though - or you'll end up in nanners anonymous, like me... ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62

Yep - bean's gonna be busy. I just gave her some LC and I'll test her again in 15. Her big drops are usually between +3 and +3.5. I don't want to pull out the HC if I can avoid it.

Nanners aren't here yet. I probably won't get them until next week.

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

Thank goodness I had the foresight to stop at the drug store on the way to work and get more lancets! It must have been my sixth-kitty sense telling me something. I only fed her about a tsp of LC and it's held her so far...though I guess I really don't know how long it takes to kick in and then how long that effect lasts. What's the prevailing theory on that, assuming there is one?!?!?

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

Kathy - I fed her right after I took the +3. Her bowl was cleaned of the tsp or so in about 1.5 minutes :) She hasn't had anything else since.

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

I don't think a teaspoon of LC lasts long. I'd get a +5, just to make sure she's surfing.

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

What are the two scores on your spreadsheet, the 64 and 69 at +4.5? Have you been testing?

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

Good luck - I'd get a +5 too - just to make sure she holds the surf. For what I have seen with Mannie, you should see the effects of food in about 20 minutes. some kitties her though take lower to show the effects of added carbs.

What a great cycle for Abby!

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

Judging by your spreadsheet, you're a night owl! Or else sleep-deprived.

As I recall, two rising tests give some comfort that numbers aren't dropping bigtime (unless you've fed HC, or course, which you haven't). Pretty numbers, but low for her. I'd want to get that +5 and feed more before going to bed. LC should do it. Does she feed herself when she goes low? I would probably also leave food out overnight.

Re: 5/6 Abby PMPS 188, +2/124, +3/62, +4/69

Thanks for the advice gang. I feed her twice a day and whatever she doesn't eat right away she just grazes on throughout the day or night. Lately she's been finishing up all of it within 2 hours, leaving nothing else. That's why when i see her at a # I'm not thrilled with I'll pull out some LC to soften the drop. If there was food there, and if she were hungry she would definitely eat. And Kathy, the two numbers are for that hour. The first # is the main hour (like at +4 she was 69) but the second # is the half hour (at +4.5 she was 64). Now at +5 she's up to 77.

I'm deciding whether to giver her a little food and go to bed, or just let her go and set the alarm to get a +6...then feed her and go to bed.

And I'm sleep-deprived, not particularly a night-owl! Her bouncing the last couple nights has been what's allowed me more than 5 hours of straight sleep a night.
