Trix's appy has been considerably happier both last night and so far this morning. It wasn't TOO far off yesterday morning, either, but it wasn't what I like to see. Picky MamaBean! She's looking bright-eyed and snuggly and feisty as well.

We're trying out a new phosphorous binder, ConSeal by Bock Labs. It's in a hard capsule - sort of but not quite like a multivitamin. You crumble bits of it off and mix it in to the food. It is supposed to be "highly palatable" to cats, and the capsule form gives "accurate" dosing. It was recommended by our awesome vetty, because sometimes Trix objects to the old-fashioned binder powder mixed into her fuds. And since she won't eat anything other than Fancy Feast or Purina One, she REALLY needs the binder. Anyway, at my vet's practice, they all test out these products on their own pets before recommending them to clients, and this new binder did get rave review from the kitties.

I just started using it last night. So far, Trix doesn't object to it - and she may even be liking it. It's hard to tell, of course! I tried offering her a few crumbs on her plate by themselves - she sniffed it, but didn't taste it...but she also has a big aversion to any and all treats now, ever since getting sick last year. But, she has been eating it in her food without objection...it's a start!

Anyway, I wanted to share, in case anyone else wanted to give this binder a go. Here's a link...I don't know if you can buy it anywhere other than from a vet, though - I haven't looked around yet.

My Dad's appointment with the local oncologist was super-fast. Basically he agreed with what the Penn doctor said, and sent us on our way. My Dad is scheduled to restart chemo on June 2. Of course we couldn't make a trip to the oncologist without a stop for shopping at Sam's Club:joyful:! My Mom and I went in for a few things, and strayed way too much...typical:p!!

I keep hoping to get evening visits in, and I keep crashing on the couch. I think my body is trying to recover from all the massive stress I've had in the past few months, and now that things appear to be settling down, I just can't stay awake...some day I'll get back on track.

Time to get ready for work...blech. Have a great day L&LL!

Thanks for the information about the Phosphorous binder. So far, knock on wood, Sammy has been eating a lower phosphorous diet, but there are times when he doesn't want to eat and I am forced to give him Fancy Feast. This would be good to have on hand if I do have to give him the Fancy Feast. I will have to ask the vet about it the next time I talk to her.

Have a great day.

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Nice AMBG Trixie. Looking good this morning!

Good luck with the new phosphorous binder, Nice too that so far Trixie likes it, what a plus that is. :)

Good news then on your dad. I am glad that both DRs agree, that has to be a good thing.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Good luck with the new binder. I am so glad Trixie likes it (so far). Keep it up sweet girl. What a great start for her today.

That is wonderful about your dad. June 2 seems so far away but it really isn't.

Have a great day Amy!

How wonderful that the very selective Miss Trixie doesn't mind the new binder (anti-jinx) in her food. I know how hard it can be to get them to accept something like that (Minka, are your ears burning???). Another gorgeous AMBG, too! :D

What a relief that the local oncologist agrees with the Penn doctor. Nothing is more frustrating and stressful than to get conflicting info or advice from two different doctors! Continued vines and prayers for your DF.

I hope your day at tbp goes quickly!
