Hi All,
We have been MIA for a bit. Off the prozac, it seemed to me he was getting nastier. I could barely get at BG test in. Then none at all for about a week.
So ,I suppose we are back on track and still in the 200's
Still pooping on things, he was even locked up last night while working and went right on the chair. 2 litter boxes near by. Oh Mickey!

I don't remember, did you arrange to speak with an animal communicator? I thought there was some discussion about that somewhere, but maybe that was someone else. There has to be a reason he's doing that - it's like he's leaving a message in cat terms!

So you took him off the prozac 'cause he was getting madder? Poor guy. It's so hard when we are only doing something to help them and they react as if we're hurting them.

I did speak to a Dawn Allen, she said that Mickey thinks we have too many cats in the house. He would only want 3 or 4. He especially dislikes Thomas, I knew that one. And he wants him GONE.
She said he cannot help it(pooping all over) ,his stomach rumbles and he has to go then. He said he knows I am doing my best.
She also said something about Thomas, he has sore teeth in the back left side of his mouth. That he was ornery and opinionated. Which is true. He is 15-16 and still runs around like a young cat.
After I spoke to her I started to put him in a room alone when I was at work. It has a screen door on it so he can still see what is going on. And not be bothered by Thomas. But it doesn't work either.
The chair and the litter box were not even 2 feet apart.
So the message to me is.... well, I have no idea.

Oh dear. I'm sorry i didn't remember reading all that. Thank you for explaining it.

For what it's worth, Dawn Allen is supposed to be very good at communicating. Some members have reported amazing things. My question would be why does he hate Thomas? Not necessarily background, but what does Thomas do that makes him hate him? Or what do YOU do that makes him hate Thomas. Sometimes I think cats can read clues in our body language and tone of our voice that we don't know we are doing.

I have experienced jealousy between my own cats. Tigget HATES, I mean hates so much she attacks them literally every day, the younger 2 cats, Sammie & Leahpold, who aren't so young anymore, they will be 9 this summer. Tigget tolerates Gandalf, ignores him now mostly, but they grew up together though I got her first. Sammie & Leahpold especially LOVE Gandalf. They get lickings from him and the whole bit, Leahpold literally has to go find him immediately upon coming in from outside.

Although Tigget was never like that with Gandalf, they never slept by one another even, I think she is jealous of the other 2 because she knew him first. And Tigget will reach out with her paw if she's lying on a chair and I walk by, as if to get my attention, so I think she feels neglected sometimes 'cause the other cats give Gandalf all the attention. And I admit, I do too!

What if you put Thomas in a room by himself? By putting Mickey in a room alone he may see that as punishment and that's why he pooped on the chair!

Wow, you have catatudes going on too.
I asked Dawn about Momma cat living in the bedroom as well.

She has been in there for a while. Mickey and sister Matilda always go after her.
Long story short. She was one of three I brought with me when I moved in May of 09. My friendly ferals. I couldn't leave them behind. I had about 12 or so that I fed. But the girl 2 houses down agreed to feed the remaining cats when I moved. I just buy food each month and drop it off for her.

Anyway. Dawn said she is very hard to communicate with. Very distrusting of humans. She also said she feels no joy. Which broke my heart. I asked if she would be better back outside and she said she was not equipped to be any longer. And she likes the food here.
I was wanting to protect her from M&M so I just closed the door. And she seemed ok, just a few days after speaking with Dawn she started to come around and is actually letting me pet her again. And I leave the door open when I am home. Pretty neat I think.

Thomas was my third cat after M&M. A dumpee of someone. He came to me unfixed & bloody. He was beat up by the male ferals in the neighborhood and had a puncture wound in his foot.
I was feeding him outside for a couple of months. Got him fixed and vetted and found out he had FIV and couldn't go back outside. So from the very beginning they never liked each other. Thomas was always in a room by himself (3 yrs)with a screened door, until I moved and let out all six cats and said figure it out. I worked for others so I figured why not?

When Thomas attacks Mickey and Matilda. Matilda holds her own. Mickey ends up on his back.
When I am home, I sometimes stand between the cats, growling and hissing at Thomas so Thomas can pass by M&M or I leave the room and Thomas goes after each of them just about daily.

I will give Thomas a go in the screened room and see how that goes. :dizcat

Mickey sounds like Gandalf! Not that he gets beat up (poor Mickey), but that he is not a fighter. If Leahpold comes over and wants his food, he backs away instead of swatting her like I wish he would do. I didn't tell you about how when I lived in a small apartment with just Tigget & Gandalf there was a raccoon on our deck one night and after that Tigget started attacking Gandalf. He would growl and kind of defend himself, but he would run and hide under the bed. Then he would crouch under there for 2 hours growling at me if I tried to coax him out. I had to shut the bedroom door and let him calm down. But he would not attack Tigget in return.

I got a book which I think was called Crazy Cat, by a cat behavioralist which helped me help Tigget get over her misdirected aggression. She actually called it raccoon syndrome, as it often starts after cats see a strange animal or a strange cat!

I loaned that book to an ex-board member and never got it back or I would give you the author's name.

Hmmm, maybe it is Thomas that should be on the prozac? Seriously, I am wondering if he were more mellow if it would help ease Mickey's anxiety?

Also, I remember you were ordering some Felines Pride for Mickey. How did that work out as far as him eating and liking it?
