I am sooooooo glad that yesterday is over. It certainly was not one of Mannie's better days... I think he wanted to revisit the days of yesteryear: the bounces through the stratosphere, the bungee jumping, the dives through the depths of the deep ocean in search of mermaids.... aiyee! The PM cycle was better - we found the yellow, the blues. So we begin again today - in hopes of good numbers, steady curves, and above all else a happy furry purry kitty. The 114 this morning is encouraging. It is nice to think that he surfed those blues last night, maybe even found the greens again. and that 221... **sigh**... Mannie?: food spike or have we already returned to bounce mode. Mannie - you bean loves ya whether you are red or green.... cat_pet_icon

Mannie could have cared less that he was a scarlet as scarlet could be yesterday - he was happy, content. The day was sunny, and warm, and he spent as much of it as he could outside: sunbathing on the deck, yard perimeter patrolling, grass rolling, and just plain hanging out. It is so fun to watch him just sit there face into the sun, squinty eyed, soaking up the rays. He did OK with my DGS yesterday. Only one escape to the basement, the rest he spent with us, even through a few cries. YAY! Progress!   He had to have been in a good mood - he even let Elsa play with his nanners -for about 10 minutes. :o That must have been the cutoff point - after that he challenged her with "that stare", "that stance", and then swatted her and chased her down the hall. Still the Nanner King, still the protector of the stash.  He's been good this morning - all is well in MannieLand: fuds = primo, test = well if I have too, shot = please sir may have more?, nanners = mine and mine alone. Normalcy.

For the next two days I will have my DGS for a full day of granny care. I look forward to it, but also know that I will not be able to get to many condos. I hope I can keep Mannie's up to date. Know that I am thinking of you all, hoping that you are all well and that your furkids are having a good day.

My friends - What a party last night!!! Kitchen krew we outdid ourselves once again. WHAT A PARTY! I am sooooooooo glad that Moonie came and sang for her brother, and Emma. I got lots of leftovers... I was thinking maybe the Kitty bucket brigade could go and help Rusty's bean bail the flooding cellar, and set up a chow down spread with party fuds. You guys in? Maybe later we can go and relax someplace sunny and warm. See you guys? ~~ Mannie

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221

Once again a perfect start to the day by coming and visiting Mannie's condo. :-D You're a great storyteller!!! Let's hope Mannie decides the bounce is over and he gets back to imitating Kermit.

Have a great day with the DGS!!

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229

Morning Michelle and Mannie and what a nice AMPS. I, too, love reading your condo and hearing about Mannie and his routine and DGS. I see Mannie came down. I gave Maggie's ears a break last night as she was a bit high for her. I hope Mannie continues with a nice surf, hear that Mannie!

Hey Mannie, yes, helping Rusty with the cellar sounds great and then we can also squeeze Cinco de Mayo in, what do ya think! I'll be waiting for you to picks me up. Thanks, Maggie

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229

Yea! Mannie spent the night at the Blue Lagoon! I think that's where the after party was. Have another great day w/ DGS and I hope the weather stays clear for Mannie's sunbathing.

Mannie, bucket brigade is back on duty! We gotta save Rusty and Ellabean from the water. Cinco de Mayo too? I think I know where mom has the chipotles stashed. -- Tess

Well looks at that pretty blue last night and such a sunny morning around these parts. Let's hope both our boys decide the other direction is better....gently. Aiyee is right!

Big 10/4 on the bucket brigades...and Cinco de Mayo later too!!!! ~~Attie

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229

Hi Michelle & Mannie,
Mannie, you're goin' the wrong way! Come back to 114 and let's start over! Sounds like a busy day with DGS, Michelle. I hope you have nice weather so that you can take him for another walk. Gotta get that kid started on the right track! Mannie will be busy here, helping Rusty and celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

Hi Mannie, Great party last night. Fantastic food! And lots of kitties turned out for Kitchen duty. I'm so glad Moonie could come and that we could sing for Copper and Emma.
It would be great if the gang came today to help with our bucket brigade. I'll get the grill out and we can do some cooking, too, and of course, eat all the party leftovers. And then on to someplace warm to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. See ya later,
Rusty

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229

Nice getting out of those reds - love the Blue start - but what's up with the yellows? I know you can come down from there, Mannie, you are such a good boy....

Hey Mannie, I'm ready to help bail for Rusty and Ellabean - seems like the right thing to do - after we are done, lets go to my house and have a Cinco de Mayo Pool Party!! Last nights party was fun and I'm glad we could all sing for Copper and Emma - we sure will miss them. ~Zoe

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229, +2.5 196, +3.5 20

I'm also glad for you that yesterday's numbers are behind you and he's doing better today. Nice AMPS for him. We need to start calling him the Sunshine King  I would have loved to see him chase Elsa!!!

Have a great day with DGS today...I know you so enjoy it. Don't worry about condos...we'll all be here when you can pop in!

Mannie...CINCO DE MAYO!!! And it's my beans annifursary too!! We also need to take KTSS to Aunt Jillbean's DGS, Sienne's DS, Miss Emily and Teddy!!! What a busy day. Tobey said he feels up to massages AND bucket brigade. We can come here, too, or go to Zoe's..that would be fun!!

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229, +2.5 196, +3.5 20

I think Mannie is lost. Perhaps he needs to stop and ask directions? Oh wait, he's a he...nevermind!

Enjoy your day!

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229, +2.5 196, +3.5 20

ok.... uhhhh.... the baby sleeps, hopefully long enough for me to update this.

221 @ +1, 229 @ +1.5, 196 @ +2.5, 204 @ +3.5.... so we have a gentle upper level blue, low yellow surf. Once again the boy seems to now it is busy here when DGS comes to stay. You are one cool dude Mannie!

Morning Patty - thx!, and not too bad of a start for Mannie - I'll take almost anything over yesterday.... :-D :-D on being Kermit. I'd go for that! Be sure and tell Champ that the kitties are off to Rusty's for bailing, and then Zoe's for pool time and cinco de mayo - he is more than welcome!

Hi Ann - and Maggie - amps was great - YAY! I fed a higher 5% carb, knowing how crazy the mornings can be when my DGS arrives, I think he'll end up with a decent cycle. I was just elated not to see red or pink after his mini dive last night! PHEW! And I know on the ears - sometimes I am grateful when they run high - so I can lay off the ears....

Hi Ann, and Tess - Yep, the blue lagoon was nice to see, especially after yesterday. omg, a day to forget... We've got rain, but it is supposed to clear this afternoon. I hope so, I'd like to let Mannie out, and also take Nicholas out for a bit too. Guess we shall see. And very funny photo! uhhh.... our  :-D kitties by days end....

Hi Beth - I agree - I hope for blues - though right now he's just surfin' the high end of it, with a little yellow for brightness. In a way it is OK... it's tough to monitor a droping kitty and care for a 4 month old at the same time. I need to check into cloning....

Hi Ella - Yep - the days are busy when the baby is here - it's doable, but never a moments rest... Mannie is good, he goes with the flow, and its almost like he knows i need him to be a steady eddy - he has so far and we are into a month. He just makes it so easy. paws crossed the rains let up so I can take Nicholas out again. He really liked it yesterday - I hope it is just the beginning!

Hi Sherry - me too. I was so happy to see that blue after yesterday... he's up a little at +2, etc... but I'm ok with that - he's hovering now, and that sure beats heading up.

Hi Zoe - thanks for helping with the bucket brigade! The more kitties the better we do. and we gots so many fuds! Rusty says he will grill too. And YES! AFFIRMATIVE on celebrating Cinco de mayo at your place. I LUBS IT! ad right you are... I will miss our friends too. See you soon! ~~ Mannie

Rusty! I Know - we had so many kitties helping in the kitchen - so new apprentices in the making for sure!  and me too on Moonie - she did so awesome. ok then on the bucket brigade - we are on our way. I gots tons of food, so we can grill, Cinco de mayo at Zoe's afterwards!! Se you soon ~~ Mannie

Attie - Sweet!! - YAY - we needs you on the bucket brigade. You is big and strong, I hope Tobey comes - he is strong too! See you there. and uhhhh.... don't forget the party fuds!! I LUBS Cinco de mayo. See you ~~ Mannie

Tess - YAY - bucket brigade to the rescue!! let's go - I brought extra buckets just in case... And a for sure on CINCO DE MAYO - We is off to Zoe's. Did you read what Attie was bringing??? He made chips - himself!! and quesa stuff. YOU GOT CHIPOTLES??????? HOORAY! Remember the turkey burgers at the last party - with the chipotle sauce? OH YUM! See you soon!! ~ ~Mannie

Maggie - SWEET! I knew you'd come. Rusty needs us, and well - CINCO DE MAYO!!! We will go to Zoe's then - SWEET! One my way - Roadster is all set to go. ~~ Mannie

WOW - look at that - updated! and the baby is still sleeping...well sort of, I hear rustling... oh well, it is OK. Time to feed again anyways.    :-D :-D

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +1 221, +1.5 229, +2.5 196, +3.5 20

Much better start to the day Mannie!
Michelle i have to agree with the others, your morning post is something to behold.. I could see Mannie sitting facing the sun yesterday with those smoodgey eyes all closed and content, like he was saying "it just doesn't get any better than this" I hope his day and yours continues to be a very nice one!

Mannie, I'm new to this party thing, but i want to come help Rusty and Ellabean get the water out of the cellar and then
Cinco De Mayo it up till the Kitty Police make us stop. I'll bring some chips and Salsa? I made it from scratch!

Tommy :-D

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +6.5 195, +9.5 219, PMPS 215

219 @ +9, 215 @ PMPS. hmmmmmm.... I wonder what such a flat surf means. Maybe he has plans for tonight.

Hi Marje - I missed your post earlier... Me to - I am glad that today is better. I hope I never relive yesterday again, Blech! It was funny with him last night and Elsa - he has such an intimidating stare when he wants to tell them to back off. I guess she didn't move fast enough so he made sure she did.  and congrats on your anniversary - in case i don't make it to loose lips - i read it today, but no time to post....

      This was GREAT!, and explains everything...

Hi Christie - Mannie says he's workin' on it, but has been sidelined by the tiny human. He did ok with him today, but still very cautious....

Hi Squirrel - yes - it is: a much better start! YAY!!! and thx. I love to watch cats soak up the sun - he has that look when he is sunning his face. truly makes me smile, because, for him it really doesn't get any better than that.

Hi Lisa - so nice to see you! We've missed you. And thanks - today is much better!!

Tommy! DUDE this is so cool! yes!! Please come. The bucket brigade is hard, but we got good fuds for while we are working. ya know: one bucket, and then two plates of fuds, another bucket...... and hey - you can join the KTSS too is you want - we travel and visit sick kitties and beans and bring them chicken soup and stuff. Tobey gives massages too. it's so much fun. That would be so cool if you can bring the chips and salsa for our pool party! you made salsa? you and Attie - you guys need to be on the kitchen krew. See you, and welcome to the party crowd.   ~~ Mannie

Willie - DUDE! Cilantro???? I LUBS cilantro... thanks Man. perfect for cinco de mayo. We are gonna be eatin' really good fuds tonight! HEY - I founds it!!! How to make mole sauce! we can do it!!!! the cookbook says it is really easy.... :? uh, is it? ~~ Mannie

Gracie - oh boy! We DO have KTSS too - sure will be busy - but WE CAN DO IT! They needs us! Wow on Tobey - he can do BOTH! He's a superman kitty. We we get done with the bucket brigade the pig out at Rustys and then the cinco de mayo pool party a zoe's, and then the KTSS, can we come and relax at your pool? Maybe some midnight grillin' and stuff? See you~~ Mannie

Re: 5/5 Mannie AMPS 114, +6.5 195, +9.5 219, PMPS 215

Hi Michelle, I looked at Mannie's SS and have some questions for you. Because of all the blues and greens, do you consider Mannie to be somewhat regulated? Also, is it because of the blues and greens that you have stayed at your dose for over 40 cycles? Mannie still bounces, but is there a reason other than LTS? Are his bounces random? I'm starting to look at the big picture with Gus and am not sure on these points. I don't expect a fast conversion, that's not my angle. I know that this process can go on for quite some time. That's another question, why does it take so long to re-regulate their BGs? Thanks for any answers you can give. Trying really hard to learn what I need to know.

Re: 5/5 Mannie PMPS 215, +2 245

245 @ +2 **sigh** - more yellow. he has been begging for food - so typical of what he does when numbers start to fall, but alas... no falling numbers. weird.

Hi Bev - I am not sure that I consider him regulated - maybe semi-regulated? He has made tremendous strides over the past three years, and yes we do get some really nice strings of blues and greens, but then he can turn around and hit the red floor. When he stops doing that, and stops all these bounces then maybe I will say regulated. How was that for an evasive answer? - I didn't mean to be... on the staying on the dose for 40 cycles. Yes - it is because of all the blues and greens. Mannie is well known for his bounces and his dives. When I look at dosing I really have to step back and look at a weeks worth, or more, and see what he does on a dose. There have been times when he has had several back to back low green cycles, then we get 8 or more yellow and pink ones. I have to ask myself is this a bounce or has he lost momentum, and then decide if a increase is needed. Alot of this has to do too with the fact that he is a long term diabetic, and he does need time to adjust to a dose change - I have to be very patient with him. a few days ago he hit that many yellow cycles, and I was one cycle away from increasing his dose, and the next cycle he went back to the greens and blue cycles. if I had increased I would have really been struggling to keep him in the safe numbers. and yes on the LTS - that is my opinion - he bounces, LTS in progress. I wish I knew the answer on why it takes so long for regulation.... omg - what i would give for that. We have been at this for three years. He has come a long way in that time, but I truly wonder if he will ever be otj. and I'm OK with that. I'd settle for regulated, which for me means high green and blues and no bounces or dives. wow - sorry for the lengthy blurb. I hope I answered your question. it's tough, so many variables...

Re: 5/5 Mannie PMPS 215, +2 245

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Does Mannie have something in mind? Glad you had a good day with DGS. I'm sure Mannie is still trying to figure out the little human that can move with such jerky uncoordinated moves. It will improve with time Mannie. He is only 4 months old and pretty soon he will be crawling after you.  Have a good night hope you have lots of ~O) you may need it.

Re: 5/5 Mannie PMPS 215, +2 245

Thanks, Michelle. It was really nice of you to take the time to explain some of the quirkiness. You weren't evasive, just honest. This is a complicated and trying disease. And I hope someday Mannie can go OTJ. We never know what they have up their sleeves @-)

Re: 5/5 Mannie PMPS 215, +2 245, +3.5 215

215 @ +3.5. more yellow..... and I wonder when this will break. :? :-D

hi Barbara - I thought maybe, but it looks like he is staying put. Not too sure hat to make of that - I hope he doesn't decide to do one of his signature dives tomorrow while I have my DGS, oh well - we will figure that out too.... and yes on Mannie and Nicholas - he really watches that little human - I think you are right - he just can't quite figure him out, and why he does what he does. You can just see the wheels turning.... and affirmative on the ~O) ~O) ~O) :-D

Hi Bev, oh good - But I do hope I answered your question so that it helped some. and yes on the quirkiness and the complicated. Just when I think I have him all figured out he changes things!

Re: 5/5 Mannie PMPS 215, +2 245, +3.5 215

Maybe tonight...maybe tonight.....flat yellow and you'll have a busy fellow!!!

Spending the evening with Mike so I'll say goodnight...hope you had a great time with DGS.

139 @ +5. ok - on the move, but no diving - somehow this is nice. :-D

Hi Marje - looks like he's picking tonight, but not too dramatically - so YAY! We shall see what tomorrow brings. :-D

NI NI ALL!
