It's tough to beat you East Coasters to the Loose Lips so I'll post before I go to bed   First, our prayers are with Sienne and her DS, with Roni, with Linda (Miss Emily), and MJ (Butthead).

Today I celebrate 27 glorious years of marriage to my soulmate, Mike aka "cabanabean". We met and married in Anchorage, Alaska in 1984. He has given me such joy and love every day of our journey together. His Air Force career allowed us to live all over the world and to have some amazing adventures (like me arm wrestling a vendor in the Souk (Kahn al-Khalili) in Cairo, Egypt over a cat figurine   ...and I won  ). He is more than I could have ever dreamed of sharing my life with .....his amazing sense of humor has kept me laughing; his intelligence has kept me on my toes; his sensitivity has brought tears to my eyes. I never believed in love at first sight until I met him and we were married less than a year after we met. In the words of the immortal Don Henley "to want what we have, to take what we're given with grace; these things I pray, on my wedding day". I do not know what I ever did to deserve him but my gratitude is boundless. I love you, baby...for eternity.

Marje, that has to be the sweetest tribute to your husband. I hope he reads it. I've never been lucky enough to find that with anyone, but I love hearing other peoples stories. Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you get lucky

Patty....thanks....and quite a story we have but it's all great. I hope you find your special someone.....I think it happens when we're least expecting it.
I hope you get lucky
Not sayin' nuttin'

Morning Marje! Wow, you were up late, and I am up early here on the West Coast. Your post was one of the first I've read. Happy, happy anniversary to you and Mike on 27 years of marriage. I agree as it is a beautiful tribute to Mike. You and Mike have led a very exciting and happy life, and I love hearing how you met and especially about love at first sight! Congratulations and enjoy your very special day.

Wow...what a wonderful anniversary story to share with us!!!
Well here's to a few more happy lifetimes together! drinking24

Does anyone else here need to start their day with a little bit-o-chocolate? Trader Joe's dark chocoalte almonds rolled in turbinado sugar and sea salt. I'm just sayin'....

Happy Annivesary, Marjorie and Mike!

happy anniversary marjorie and mike! the two of you were lucky to have found each other!

on another note, i've been preoccupied with family. my 5 year old grandson was hospitalized yesterday. he had a sore throat and one side of his face was swollen twice it's size. it turns out he has abscesses in his neck... both sides and in the back. they're very concerned about the infection being so close to the brain. they're treating the infection aggressively and will probably do a cat scan this morning before draining the abscesses. they also found a heart murmur.

we could really use some positive thoughts! it's tough being in the hospital when you're only 5. :(

ps - i know i have PMs from some of you. i'll try to get to them a bit later today.

What a lovely start to loose lips today, Marjorie! Happy anniversary to you and cabana bean!!

I work for the gov't, and alcohol in federal bldgs. is a big no no. So when there was an email circulated at tbp yesterday with the subject Cinco de Mayo Reminder, I figured it was just a no office margarita party reminder. yeah, it was a lunch and learn.  I had happy hour for dinner just because it cracked me up! (sparling blueberry lemonade martini, an olive plate with peppadew peppers and manchego cheese, and roasted potatoes topped with pancetta and cheese with a creamy dipping sauce. yum!)e So happy cinco de mayo, everyone!

Happy Anniversary Marjorie and Cabanabean. What a milestone!!! You two rock. Glad Mike was a keeper

((((((((Jill, your GS)))))))))) I'm wishing that everything will be okay and he'll recover quickly. Kids bounce back from this stuff so much easier than adults. It must be so scary for him and all of you. Please keep us posted. Sending lots of hugs.

I have to go look up "cinco de mayo". Even though I don't know what it is, Happy cinco de mayo.

Sending hugs to those that are grieving and fighting the good fight.

I missed some posts yesterday.

(((((((((Linda, Emily)))))))))) That must have been so scary. Wishing the combination starts working for her quickly. Sending healing vines. So glad Teddy is doing well *clapping*.

Thanks for the feedback on the cysts too. I don't have a diagnosis which bothers me. I think from descriptions it is fibrocistic breast syndrome. But its not hormonal. I was on Depo Provera for nine years. Just got off of this last year. I couldn't take other BC because of my migraine history. It flares up a lot with activity where I use my arms (like using the elliptical machine). I am armed with vitamin D and got evening primrose after putting it off for a long time. I don't want the headaches that a lot of women get but I'll give it a go.

Julie when Maverick passed one of the things I did to stay busy was "purging". Cleaned out the basement of stuff that I hadn't unpacked even - I moved here ten years ago. Donated a couple car loads of stuff to the animal shelter that I got Henry and Victoria at for their upcoming summer garage sales. I have clothes to donate to a clothing pickup (tons), and threw out a ton of junk. Going to have a bonfire of all the paper stuff I have. Why oh why did I keep all this stuff!?? It feels so good to purge.

Good luck house hunting Christie!!! That's so exciting. The small house sounds so awesome and perfect for you. My house is small too - just a high ranch. But perfect for just Patrick and I, Nike, Henry and Victoria and my fish. No kiddies (ever) :) We always said if an accident happened that we could add a garage and a room above it. I will never ever move again. It was in the top three most stressful events of my life.

Sienne I'm keeping your sister in my thoughts. My friends mom is going through cancer treatment and I'm following her blog on CaringBridge. Every day she posts updates on her chemo (hair loss, nausea etc) and possible upcoming radiation. I'm glad you are there for your sister. It will help her get through this.

This is my friends cat Sammi. She is the one that is one the board at the cat shelter. I donated all the stuff from my basement to her shelter and discovered my heart was open to a kitty.... Henry and Victoria  I gave away most of Maverick's things. She has a diabetic cat with bad arthritis and Zoe has made herself at home in the heated bed that Maverick only used his last day with me. But her adopticat Sammi decided he liked it yesterday. The pics made me laugh out loud:

that is the happiest cat i've ever seen! absolutely awesome. what a great use for maverick's old bed!

jill, thinking of you and your grandson - 2 of my nephews had major health issues and were in the hospital a lot when they were young. it's so very hard for them and they don't truly understand it all. thank God this was found before it got worse. are you spending your day at the hospital?

marjorie - congratulations! absolutely awesome! have a perfectly wonderful day today and hahahaha on the getting lucky! ;-) if you're not on much tonight, we're gonna be thinking . . . . daryl & i got married just before you - oct 83.

love the Cinco de Mayo lunch & lesson. hahahahaha - so much for the partay! you'll have to make your own, christie!

nom nom nom on the chocolate! maybe i'll go in search in a bit. working on my dr pepper for the moment.

packing today and getting all the stuff ready to leave the kitters. that takes more doing than packing. how to anya-proof the place . . .

Thank you all so much for your anniversary wishes.

Jill: we are sending mega prayers and healing vines to your DGS. Mike and I hope they get this resolved quickly and he is back to being a happy, healthy 5-year old little boy. I'm sure it is so scary for him to be in the hospital and I hope they let his parents stay with him overnight. Also hope they will run all the necessary tests and rule out any problem with his heart other than just a murmur. (((Jilll)))....you give so much to all of us...we send all the power of prayer that we can.

Beth: LOVE the pic; I think Mike was instrumental in picking May 5th as our wedding date because Cinco de Mayo is easy to remember

Karrie: Well that Sammi is something else!! Not only is he gorgeous but what purrsonality...And I'm hoping you are feeling better.

Christie: YUM! Luckily, we are not in a federal building  Wow...the crudites sound wonderful...YUMMY!!! We have two double wides (but they are nice ones) for our offices separated by a breezeway and we have a very fancy gas grill so we often have lunch parties at TBP and we all bring stuff. And there is always beer in the fridge but I've never seen anyone drink it until after work hours...you know...just when they are getting ready to drive home.

Amy: darn...I was at TJ's yesterday! How did I miss that????

Jill, vines and healing white light for your DGS. It is so scary for a 5 year old. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Jill, you and I posted at about the same time this morning, so I didn't see your post! Tons of thoughts/prayers for your grandson! May the results be favorable, his treatment quick and painless, and may the little guy get home soon!

Karrie, that cat is just the cutest. Purrsonality indeed!!! Wonderful to see dear Mav's bed going to such a worthy recipient!

Marjorie, your setup at work sounds delightful. I'm in a building of 1500, and they occasionally have outdoor grilling events, but never anything casual or spur of the moment.

Amy, that sounds delightful! We are getting 2 TJs soon... I can't wait! I've been wayyyy too much of a sugar junkie lately, so I am currently munching on an atkins bar. despite seriously suspect-sounding ingredients like fructooligosaccharides, they actually remind me of whatchamacalit bars, and thus are serving their purpose well.

Julie-- good luck with the packing and anya-proofing!!

Karrie, I love the pics of Zoe in Maverick's heated bed - looks so comfy and purrfectly happy!

Jill, positive thoughts and prayers for your grandson. It's so hard to see them sick when they are so little.

Just got home a while ago and will catch up on condos.

Marjorie - Happy Anniversary to you and Mike. That was a lovely post. Sniff. Very sweet. Thank you for keeping Miss Emily in your thoughts. She has had a good day, sipping some warm Recovery formula soup. I am sure that she could use a nice home made broth from the KTSS.

Jill - I am sending lots of prayes and healing vines for your DGS. How frightening for you and your family. I hope that the antibiotics kick in and help him out quickly.

Karrie - those photos are priceless. I have to find one of those beds. I may even let the cats sit in it!

(((Jill))) the weight of the world is no doubt on you & your loved one's shoulders. Bless all your hearts & I pray for a healthy outcome with your grandson, keeping all of you in my prayers :YMHUG:

Karrie.. I LOVED the pics.. thank you for sharing.. super cute!!!

Marjorie & Mike..Happy 27th Anniversary to you both ♥ I wish for you each & together an abundance of blessings forever & ever ♥

Marje and Mike: Congrats on 27 years together. May your love for one another continue to grow and deepen. drinking24

Jill: Sending lots of hugs and healing vines for your grandson. You guys are in our thoughts and prayers. Please share an update when you can.

Karrie: Sammi looks soooooooooooooooo relaxed. Looks like he was enjoying Cinco de Mayo a little too much.

Sienne: Continuing to send thoughts and prayers your way for your sister. And for your sweet kitties who are being well cared for during your absence but I'm sure are choppin at the bit for you to get home. I'm sure they have a big Mother's Day present for ya.

27 great years! Congratulations Marjorie & Mike! I hope you're enjoying a lovely anniversary dinner tonight.

Jill, your little grandson is in our thoughts and prayers tonight. I hope that he will be better soon. Rusty picked him a big bouquet of healing vines and is sending them special delivery tonight.

Sienne, more healing vines, positive thoughts, snowflakes, etc. etc. for your DS. I have a close friend (my old training partner from my competitive racewalking days) who has been a breast-cancer survivor for over 30 years. She is the most positive thinker I have ever known, and I'm sure that has contributed to her success in fighting this disease. I pray that your sister can find her inner strength to get through the challenging days and weeks ahead.

Linda, Rusty has whipped up a pot of chicken soup for Miss Emily. The KTSS will be along soon. Alert Ted so that he can let Russ and the gang in! (You are allowed to have some of the soup too, if you are still under the weather. But I hope you're feeling better again.)

Karrie, those pics of Sammi enjoying the bed Mav bequeathed are priceless. Hope you are feeling lots better today.

Christie, that Cinco de Mayo spread sounds scrumptious. Good luck with your house hunting. Sounds like you've found the perfect one!

Marjorie, I thought that Cinco de Mayo would be a good day to eat the black beans from your recipe (I made up a batch last week), so I put them into a casserole with rice, canned tomatoes in their juice, yams, and cheddar cheese with a little bit of pepper sauce and scallions. It turned out well. The black-bean recipe is a winner.

Amy, I would kill for a Trader Joes!!

Julie, have a safe trip.

I hope everyone has a good evening. Our flooded cellar (worse than ever because of all the rain yesterday) gave me the opportunity to rescue my old trunk, which is full of childhood, teenage, and college memorabilia. I haven't had it open in years. Now all I need is time to look through it! The first thing I found was a plastic egg of Silly Putty!!!! The second thing--a real treasure--was a little notebook from an automobile trip my family took with my friend's family to the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec in the late 1940s. My pal and I sat in the back seat of my parent's car or his parent's car and wrote down everything our parents said to each other and drew pictures of the backs of their heads. It is a stitch!

Ella

(((JILL))) Positive thoughts, white light, snowflakes, Reiki and healing vines on their way along with prayers. Hoping he responds quickly to the meds and is home soon.

Happy Anniversary Marje and Mike. Many more!

Karrie those pics were adorable. Hope you will post pics of your new furbabies soon. I also hope you are feeling better.

I found my watch YEAH. Will make sure I keep it out of Tuffy's reach.

Hope all have a good night.

I just have a quick minute...I have GOT to call it a night.

Karrie - Those pictures of Sammie are classic! I have to admit, I'm kinda jealous that I don't get to spend my day the same way!

Julie - have a great trip this weekend!

Jill - I've added your grandson to my thoughts-n-prayers list.

I know I've missed folks, but I'm wiped. I just want to say how thankful I am for LantusLand - you guys are the best!

just a quick update...

thank you for all your thoughts and prayers! there's no doubt in my mind that they've helped.
my grandson did a complete turnaround for the better tonight. surgery was scheduled for tomorrow morning, but it sounds like they'll be canceling it any time now. kids! they're so resilient!

have to get some sleep. thank you LL!

Christie: yes...it is a pretty cool setup and I have an awesome office with a door ...only two of us do ..you know that whole govt grade structure thing! We're on an air force base and can walk to the commissary so it's often very impromptu; someone will come around at 10:30 am..."hey...how about we do grilled fajitas today" and off we go! I used ot work in federal bldgs..yuck...plus the security is a pain!

Linda: thank you!!!! I'm glad Miss Emily is better today. I need to check out the Recovery soup...maybe I could give it to Teddi so she'd gain some weight. Hope Emily and Teddy enjoyed the KTSS.

Nicole: thanks for your sweet wishes and the hearts!!! HUGS!

Tena: thank you; I think we're like that Brad Paisley song "Then". I always think how much I loved Mike at each step and then find out that it pales in comparison to how I love him now...or tomorrow. Although I saw this card once that said on the outside "I love you more today than yesterday" and on the inside it said "Yesterday you really p&*#$ed me off"

Ella: WOW about the trunk!! How cool is that. And in what condition was the Silly Putty? The notebook sounds fascinating...isn't it fun to read things you wrote as a child? I'm glad you enjoyed the bean recipe and your casserole sounds scrumptious!!! And so filling for a cold day. Thank you for the anniversary wishes. Hope Edward is doing better.

Barbara: thank you and I'm glad you found the watch!! That TUFFY!

We had a lovely afternoon...went to see Source Code....very interesting movie and then we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. And then rushed home to do squids, Gracie, etc. It's the first anniversary since 1998 that we didn't go away; I wanted to take Gracie and go to our favorite lodge in the White Mountains of AZ. It's in a tiny town called Greer...one street that dead ends and is less than one mile long. They have a wonderful honeymoon suite...huge and it's just so beautiful and peaceful there. DPS could have done the others. But Mike didn't want to stress Gracie out. But that's ok...I love being at home with him, too.

Hoping we hear a good update on Jill's DGS and Sienne's DS. Good night all.
