Good morning, Lantus Fambly!
Binks and I are feeling snubbed by our 'born with 'em, can't choose 'em" family-
so are running to our "these guys are great, let's adopt 'em" family to share our tale of woe with sympathetic ears.
Our cousin has a horse running in the Kentucky Derby today, so the entire clan flew out Thursday to witness the grand event.
I arrived home late Tuesday to find the lil Grey Ghostie frantically searching through the mail- and when I questioned him-
he was muttering something about a 'lost invitation'...then finally threw his little paws in the air in frustration,
shook his tiny lil head in disbelief, and threw himself down on the floor in abject despair.
Then he dramatically covered his eyes with one paw, and pointed the other shakily at the phone.
Sure enough- voice mail enlightened me to the cause of his upset...
not only were we NOT invited to attend what we have always considered the race of the year-
they added insult to injury by insisting that we drive them to the airport!
When poor Binksy finally felt able to discuss the situation, he tearfully told me
"Mama, I would give my left testicle to be in the stands to watch the Kentucky Derby!"...
and I just didn't have the heart to point out that he had already sacrificed that tiny gem to lessen the stray kitter population
Other than this admittedly minor debacle, things are well in Cuddville,
with the exception of ugly time restraints keeping us from visiting condos.
I've been pulling double temp shifts during the week- and as I am no longer a young'un...fall into bed pretty quick when I get home.
The upside of this is that all three kitties miss me during the day, so we all share cuddles with minimal fighting at night.
And due to his daily boredom, Binksy is on cuteness overload these days.
He meets me at the door in the evening prancing with excitement- and after welcome home cuddles, races to the food dish.
He'll gobble down a couple of bites, then dash over for a loud chat through the bedroom door with the girls-
"I'm having Friskies Turkey Soup...what are you guys eating?"...then back to his dish for a bite- and a mad dash to the couch
to check out my dinner and to tell me about his day!
What a little doll...my days never fail to end with me laughing at my sweet little Manxie's antics.
And he continues to throw pretty little green numbers whenever tested.
He's got a birthday coming up this week, so he'll get to have his own condo that day.
So now...off to visit condos!
If you watch the Derby today, we'd love it if you cheered loudly for Rousing Sermon...
and if they flash a picture of the owners in the stands- we'd feel vindicated if you secretly flip them the bird for leavin' us behind!!!
