Good morning LL. Hope everyone is up and at 'em, bright eyed and bushy tailed. For the future, when Gus gets the correct dose of Lantus, there won't be any more bounces. (?) Does everything sort of level off and he stays within normal range? I'm striving for better numbers but don't really know what to expect when we get there. I really like today's amps, but this is always how we start :-D

Re: 5/5 Gus AMPS 178

Hi Bev-

I'm sure someone who has more experience will come along shortly, but in a nutshell, Gus will stop bouncing when his body/liver gets used to the lower numbers. Right now, his body thinks those higher numbers are normal, so when he hits the lower numbers his liver panics and adjusts accordingly, resulting in the bounce. So, unfortunately, you'll keep seeing bounces for a bit, even with a good dose, until his body remembers that the lower numbers are the normal ones. Over time, with the right dose, the bounces should become smaller, and farther between.

Awesome AMPS, BTW!

Amy

I still can't get used to not seeing "HI" written on your subject line!!! And to start at 178....whoa baby!!! Good for Gus!!!

Re: 5/5 Gus AMPS 178

i still see bounces in people who've been doing this for a lllloooonnnnngggg time! i think it's just part of the sugar dance.

great to see Gus out of the blacks, out of the reds, out of the pinks, out of the yellows, and down singing those sweet blues!

Re: 5/5 Gus AMPS 178

Again, WOW!! So nice to see that color this morning on Gus's SS.. He's working real hard to stay on the lower floors for you!
It's quite a feeling to see progress isn't it. Knowing that what you are doing for him is really helping.. :-D
Have a great day Bev & Gus!!

Re: 5/5 Gus AMPS 178

Hey Bev: wonderful AMPS this morning. Even when a kitty gets to their "fitting dose" you may still see them bounce. Look at Tess's SS or Mannie's. Or even Gracie's when she was doing better at a higher dose. ECID. Some cats get their breakthrough and never look back...all greens/blues from there on out. Some struggle with LTS for a very, very long time. But rejoice in this awesome number today!! YAY GUS!!!

Re: 5/5 Gus AMPS 178; +6=155

I am really , really happy with Gus' progress and enjoy the lower #s while they last.

Re: 5/5 Gus PMPS 453;R.25/L7.5; +2R=480 ?Help

I'd like to give Gus another R.25 in an hour (at +3R). Would that be safe considering that he is so high at +2R?

Re: 5/5 Gus PMPS 453;R.25/L7.5; +2R=480 ?Help

Gus and Champ are imitating each other with their numbers today and I can't say I'm pleased by it either!!

Re: 5/5 Gus PMPS 453;R.25;+2R=480

Gus' +3R shows that the R.25 has worked well. 330 is a good place for his Lantus nadir to begin. No additional R tonight. I expect Gus to start out the day tomorrow with a good number. He's got sort of a pattern going here. cat_pet_icon
