? 5/5 Bijoux PMPS 322 not eating / vomited earlier

*Updating with her PMPS and a question as she's not eating pre shot - I'm not sure if I should shoot or not, she's not really eating anything at all (even her favorite chicken bites) and is just laying in bed. She had diarrhea earlier and vomited some as well after she ate this afternoon. Her BG is pretty high for her lately - just nervous to shoot if she's not eating anything - appreciate any input!


Good morning all! hope everyone is having a good cinco de mayo so far :)

Bijoux's AMPS was higher than it has been lately this morning - not sure what to make of this but hope I'm just doing the right thing for her. She seems to be doing okay, eating and drinking normally. She was a bit constipated yesterday but had a good BM this morning and just resting next to me while I work right now!

She also could be reacting to the lows before the reduction. Time will tell if that’s it or an increase will be needed. After 7 days on this dose we will know. It’s all up to her. Have a great day.

At +5 and were at 262 now, she had some diarrhea as well. Have called the vet just to check in.
 
One of my young ones threw up a cigar hairball a few days ago. She’s an over groomer and has long fur. She doesn’t shed much though. It’s the time of year when they often shed a lot. It can cause an increase in BG.

I hope it’s a one and done with the diarrhea. As for hairballs I’m trying Ez complete dried egg yoke. I might have to stop though if it turns out she’s allergic to egg. Poor baby has dermatitis and EGC, two kinds of allergies and the jury is still out as to the cause.
 
Good to know it can cause an increase in BG! She's on the rise again eek (315 at +7) and has had a bit more diarrhea. Shes usually not an over groomer but as you called out its getting warmer and its just that time of year.

And oh goodness your poor baby - I hope she doesn't turn out to also be allergic to egg. Sending lots of healing vibes her way!
 
Poor Bijoux is having a rough one today and I just don't know what to do to help her. She's had diarrhea all day and vomited up a hairball earlier. I tried to give her her favorite treat, which she ate, then threw up a little while later. Not sure what to do about tonight's shot as she won't eat but BG is on the rise?

Spoke with Vet and she said to keep an eye on her and if she isn't better tomorrow to bring her in - I just hate to see the poor thing not well and I don't know if she's in pain? She's been lying around all day and will purr when I pet her / put her in my lap but not much else.
 
Poor baby. I’d bring her to the vet tomorrow. Do you have anything for nausea, cerenia or ondansetron? I wonder if it could be pancreatitis. Could she have eaten anything she shouldn’t?

We ended up going to the emergency vet last night as she wasn’t eating and the diarrhea/gagging continued. They gave her fluids and some anti-nausea meds and we game home to rest. She’s not interested in breakfast this morning and her BG is going down at the moment (178 from 206 a half hour ago). I don’t want to give her insulin at the moment as I’m scared since she hasn’t eaten in about a day now. Going to call her vet when they open. Thank you for the well wishes!
