I figured I would get Trix's condo going while I wait for the cypro to kick in...AND, while the board is actually up!
After a nerve-rattling start to the day yesterday, last evening, Trix ate really, really well....the best I've seen her eat in a couple weeks. I did touch base with the vetty-on-duty, since our vetty is on vacation, and talked to her about cerenia. She said to give 1/4 cerenia once a day for three days (starting last night), then switch to every other day. So, I did give Trix cerenia when I got home from work last night. She also did suggest on holding off on the ondansetron for now, too, partly to see how Trix does with the cerenia by itself, and partly because she is on SO many meds right now that she wants to go easy when and where possible. She likes the results she gets with the cerenia/famotidine combo. So, we'll see how this goes. I don't know if that is what helped her eat better last night or what, but maybe cerenia is a better choice for her than the ondansetron - at least for this moment??
Her appy isn't super great this morning, but it is better than it was yesterday. And, her demeanor seems so much closer to normal than I've seen since all of this started. She looks relaxed, and she is currently snuggled up with Zen. So, I guess we're still making baby steps forward with some blips like yesterday on the radar - and I know those blips are par for the course when recovering from p-titis, but man are they stressful. I was a pretty bummed out bean yesterday.
Yesterday, I had given her 1/4 of a cypro, despite my vetty's instructions to give her half. I know that "less is more" with cypro which is why I didn't give her half a tablet, but I did give her more than most folks here do just given her circumstances. It did make her interested in food, but didn't really make her EAT MORE food. Today, I did try cutting the cypro back to 1/8th of a tablet as everyone suggested yesterday, so we'll see how that goes. I also wonder if yesterday morning's cypro helped with last evening's appy...like, maybe during the day when it was at its peak, it just made her feel weird, but once it started settling out later in the day, THEN she got hungry??? Just thinking out loud...and grasping at straws for answers like we beans like to do.
Time to see if the cypro has started, then BTB for the bean. It's another work day and I am exhausted, but what can ya do? Have a great day, LL!

ETA - She just ate enough to satisfy her very fussy MamaBean, who is now heading BTB!
