Sorry I have not been around the last few days. I have been crazily working on my budget at work that was due yesterday. My budget meeting with the head honchos went well except I really can't believe that the Executive Director of a fairly large non-profit would sit at the meeting, asking me questions while she looked at her stupid e-mail messages on her phone the whole time. Kind of distracting!

Anyway, sorry about the OT rant. Now on to Simon. Simon went to the vet on Monday for bloodwork and urinalysis. Yesterday, I played telephone tag with the vet the whole day and still don't know the results. One message he left said something about GI issues and also elevated amaylase. His blood sugar was 260 at the vet but Simon is such a nervous kitty, it is always elevated when we visit the vet. I'll post more when I find out details today.

Simon is feeling well this morning and is bugging me to let him outside now that the weather is so nice.

Happy Friday!!!!

Re: 5/4 Simon AMPS 166

Nice blue AMPS for Simon! I hope you finally connect with the vet and get the results. Simon is looking good though.

Great to hear that your meetings are over and went well. I HATE it when people sit in meetings on their phones. Arghhhhh. Then they ask questions that you had just talked about when they weren't paying attention.

Hope you have a wonderful day Georgia!!

Re: 5/4 Simon AMPS 166 +6 84

I spoke with Simon's vet today. The vet says that his amylase is high, and may be causing Simon to have some GI problems. Simon does tend to vomit and poop at stressful times, so maybe the increased stomach acid is to blame. the Vet suggests that I start giving him pepcid at least daily to begin and then 2x/day if needed. If he continues to have issues, I need to get an ultrasound done. Everything else looks normal, according to the vet. His bg was elevated but it wasn't too high considering he was at the vet (260). I am going to get the written report to look at all the results.

Re: 5/4 Simon PMPS 67

Wow, Simon had a nice green surf today. Pepcid seems to help Zener too although we give him Zantac now because it is supposed to help with motility too. Those mobile devices are supremely annoying.

Anne and Liz, I might try Zantac to see if that works better for Simon. Cleo has been on Zantac and it helps alot with her tummy issues.

Mr. Simon sure has a mission this evening!

Re: 5/4 Simon PMPS 67 +2.75 43

Hi Georgia, I've missed you but do know how stressful your job can be at ties. Sending some feel better and tummy vines for Simon. I hope the Pepcid will help him. Once in a while Mags has tummy upset, and the Pepcid always helps. Have a nice weekend, Georgia. You can rant here any time about work, as we all understand.

Wow....Simon sure dose want to keep you busy tonight!

Don't get me started on people and their phones. Enjoy that it's Friday!!!

Lovely green for Simon! I can understand how happy that nothing "wrong" with the vet finding & how frustrated it must be to sense something not right yet unable to detect the cause. Dont worry, give Simon & Mr vet the time.

Have a nice weekend!

Ok, Mr. Simon, you can stop going lower now. Fed some hc food so hopefully, he will be coming up again. At least it is Friday so I don't have to go to work early tomorrow. I guess the pepcid is helping his tummy feel good!

Nice on the vet report - hope the pepcid helps Simon. The rest sounds great! :-D

Looks like Simon was on a mission tonight! I'm glad all is well and that his GI issues resolve with the Pepcid or Zantac.

Hope Cleo is well. Hugs !
