the numbers showing another wicked bounce:
MPS 475.2
+1.5 487.8
+7 192.6
PMPS 149.4
+2 336.6
+4.5 496.8

Rupert *looks* okay but is definitely sluggish today. Didn't come and get me and was still in his spot on the couch when I came down. Ate all his breakfast though. Now he's camped out under the dining room table near the water bowl although doesn't appear to be drinking a lot. His coat looks not bad, he's alert and looks 'normal', just not quite as active. His eyes have a slightly sunken worried look today. Moving just fine, not desperate to go out and pee.

sigh. I'm at my wits end with this. Wondering if his body is really really fighting the insulin (not as in 'resistant' because we know sometimes it works)... what if it's too much? Can't believe I'm saying this because instinct suggests I should give him MORE.. but wondering if I should cut the dose back down.. to something like 1u and work UP from there? the worry of course is if he stays in these high numbers he'll get ketones (none yet,or in his history)...but wondering if his body is just in permanent 'panic' mode? thoughts? I dunno. pretty much open to suggestions at this point. If it wasn't for those blues yesterday I'd be back in 'blame the insulin' mode. I started this vial April 15, so it should still be good.

of course, if I mention the threat of a doseCREASE he'll come down on his own.. for a nano second. Guess I just keep reminding myself that he's alive and happy and that's the main thing. Grrr. the control-freak in me is NOT handling this well though!

serious shout outs from other kitties on prettier floors required today please!

off to feed the horsies now.

Hi Rupie! Rosy is not on better floor, I blame it on the weather! you can too!
Have a nice weekend Pip! When is the new horse coming home?

Oh Pip! I know how frustrated you are. Been there many times. About 6 months ago I was wondering the same thing that you are now and actually did cut back to start over even though others suggested I not. I then did the raise every 6 cycles faithfully and ended up well above what I originally was at before Tarragon's pancrease kicked back in. Ketones are a huge concern and Rupert is in high numbers right now.

I know others will come along and give their thoughts but i wanted to let you know that I did try that and it didn't work with Tarragon. However, as we all know, ECID. ((((Pip))))

Those numbers are tough. Ease on down, Rupert, nice and slow so Mr. Liver doesn't panic.

Hey Rupert, didn't you know that black and white cats are supposed to keep the black on their fur? Neko always has that problem with a bounce too. At least it wasn't "Hi". Nice to know Rupert has a healthy liver. And of course Rupert is being unpredictable about when that bounce starts and stops. Cats! Come on down Rupert, but slowly.

seems like flat pink tonight for Rupie. seems hungry, thirsty and bossy! alert, coat loking a little 'crunchy' tonight. hopefully he'll come down a bit soon.
